Meal: Breakfast, lunch– Accommodation: Hotel in Saigon After breakfast, proceed to the Cu Chi Tunnels – comprising more than 200 km of underground tunnels and standing as a witness to the searing memories of the Vietnam War. The main axis system branches out to underground hideouts, bomb shelters, and entrances to other tunnels. Its underground system is comprised of numerous trap doors, living areas, sleeping chambers with bamboo beds, storage facilities, weapon factories, field hospitals, command centers, and kitchens. Nowadays, the remaining parts have become a major tourist attraction, giving its visitors a unique experience and a taste of what underground life was like during the Vietnam War. Go back to the city center to have lunch before engaging in a short sightseeing tour around the city with en route visits to the War Remnants Museum, Notre Dame Cathedral, the Old Post Office, and the People’s Committee Hall. You will stay overnight in HCMC.

Today you will leave the hustle and bustle of Saigon and head over to the luxuriant Mekong Delta. After breakfast, you will be picked up by your guide and driver and taken to Cai Be Floating Market – the biggest and liveliest in the Mekong Delta. Lose yourself in the blissfully soothing, tranquil countryside and, where you get to gain an intimate insight into the local way of life. Explore the dynamics of local livelihoods, satisfy your sweet tooth, and get yourself some lovely handmade items made from coconut trees grown in the region by visiting a coconut candy and crispy rice cake workshop. While enjoying exotic tropical fruits, tune into the melodious sound of traditional music. Have lunch at a local’s house before embarking on a sampan boat trip zigzagging through the narrow canals shaded by sprawling water coconut trees to observe the cultural nuances of the Mekong Delta’s typical rural life along the way. You will then travel to Can Tho and stay there for the night.

Meal: Breakfast, lunch– Accommodation: Hotel in Ho Chi Minh City Wake up early and leave your hotel in Can Tho for the famous Cai Rang Floating Market on a motorized boat. Take in the picture-perfect scenery along the way when cruising along the river. As you delve deeper into the countryside and through the rickety-looking houses made from wood and palm leaves typical of the region, you will get to observe the local people’s livelihoods. Travel back to Can Tho for lunch before returning to Saigon.

Our guide and driver will wait for you at the airport to take you to Hoi An. In the afternoon, you will take a half-day walking tour through the narrow winding alleyways visiting some well-preserved historical sites such as Chua Ong Pagoda, Chinese Assembly Halls, the 200- year old Tam Ky ancestral house, and the Japanese Bridge. After that, there will be free time for you to shop or relax. You will stay overnight in Hoi An. At the end of the day, you will embark on a pleasant boat ride to admire the ancient town under the setting sun.

Leave your hotel for My Son Sanctuary, also known as “the Angkor Wat of Vietnam” – a cultural heritage recognized by UNESCO in 1999 located about 50 km southwest of Hoi An. The majestic capital of the once-thriving Champa Kingdom with more than 65 architectural works in Hindu style devoted to the god Shiva, unfortunately, is now a cluster of ruins due to age and bombing, standing as a witness to the glorious bygone era. Drive back to your hotel in Hoi An and spend the rest of the day at your leisure.

Spend the afternoon exploring the Royal Citadel, the Imperial Museum, and the Mausoleum of Emperor Tu Duc (a replica of is palace built for his next reincarnation).

Pay a visit to the historic seven-storey Thien Mu Pagoda gracefully perched on Ha Khe Hill and overlooking the river’s shimmering waves. Then, proceed to the lively Dong Ba Market and the tomb of Emperor Minh Mang 12 km to the south of Hue City center. In the afternoon, head over to the airport to catch a short flight to Hanoi – the centuries-old capital of Vietnam. Upon arrival, you will be transferred to your hotel in the city center. The rest of the day is left on your own.

Today you have a full day to explore the capital of Vietnam. Pay a visit to the Ho Chi Minh Complex; starting with Ho Chi Minh’s Mausoleum in the center of monumental Ba Dinh Square that houses the embalmed body of the late Vietnam communist leader, followed by the Presidential Palace and Ho Chi Minh’s stilt house in the garden at the back, as well as the neighboring diminutive One Pillar Pagoda – a symbol of Hanoi. A little further southwest is the tranquil Temple of Literature – the first university in Vietnam, inviting quiet contemplation. You will also get to visit the most beautiful attraction museum in Hanoi – The Vietnam Museum of Ethnology or History Museum. West Lake, 15km in circumference, covers a sizable part of Hanoi and offers colorful Vietnamese life filters with aesthetically designed temples scattered here and there such as Tran Quoc Pagoda and Quan Thanh Temple, fishermen casting their fish rods and nets, as well as Western-oriented cafes and bars. Later in the afternoon, enjoy an authentic Water Puppet Show, the proudest and most intricate traditional folk art of the country.
