Looking for a weekend trek, then Nag Tibba is the best bet, located near Queen of Hills, Mussoorie on one of the highest peaks of Garhwal Himalayas; Nag Tibba is considered as a trekker’s delight and is classified as an easy-moderate trek. It is not a very difficult trek in summer and autumn but in winters it could be a little challenging with a lot of snow. Once there you will find yourself surrounded by Nature in its pristine beauty at an impressive height of 9915 Ft. As the name may suggest, Nag Tibba is dedicated to Nag Devta and there is a temple build on the top where local shepherds pay their respect to Nag Devta. The view from the top is mesmerizing and the meadow on hill top offers a comfortable place for camping. The top can be reached from many directions like from Devalsari village, the trek to Nag Tibba is 10 km, from Mangalori Village, from Aunter but the most preferred direction is from Village Pantwari. As you stand on hilltop at Jhand, the view around will leave you breathless as you can see the Peaks of Swargrohini, Gangotri, Bandarpoonch peak, Kala Nag, Srikanta. It does not stop there as you can also looking down towards Village Devalsari on the other side of the ridge. The base camp for Nag Tibba is Village Pantwari, which around 85 kms from the Capital city Dehradun. The route from Dehradun covers the following route: Dehradun – Mussoorie – Kempty Falls – Yamuna Bridge – Purola – Nain Bagh. It is from here that the 5.5 km steep trek starts which will take us to Nag Tibba. The trek passes through small villages and the entire trail is lined by thick forest cover of Oak and Deodar trees.
