3-Day Fly in & Fly-out Safari from Zanzibar to Mikumi NP

Your safari begins with a scenic morning flight from Zanzibar to Mikumi, landing at Kikoboga Airstrip. Upon arrival, your professional safari guide will meet you for a short transfer to your lodge, where you will check in and enjoy a quick rest. In the afternoon, you'll head straight into Mikumi National Park for your first thrilling game drive. The park's wide-open plains and acacia woodlands offer excellent opportunities to spot elephants, lions, giraffes, wildebeests, zebras, and more. As the golden light fades, you'll return to the lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.

After an early breakfast, you'll venture deeper into Mikumi National Park for a full-day game drive. You'll explore different habitats, from open grasslands to miombo woodlands, and encounter an impressive diversity of wildlife. Often referred to as a “mini-Serengeti,” Mikumi offers spectacular game viewing without the crowds. You will enjoy a picnic lunch at a scenic spot within the park. Later, you'll continue your exploration until late afternoon. Then, you'll return to your lodge to unwind.

On your final day, immerse yourself in the rich local culture with a Maasai Cultural Tour followed by a village walk through Mikumi Town. You'll visit a traditional Maasai Boma where you will engage with the community, learn about their customs, and experience their hospitality firsthand. You'll continue to Mikumi town for a guided walk through local markets and residential areas, a chance to see everyday Tanzanian life beyond the park. After the tour, your guide will transfer you to the airstrip for your afternoon flight back to Zanzibar.
