3-Days Maasai Mara National Reserve

Your journey to the Maasai Mara National Reserve begins on Day 1 with a scenic drive from Nairobi, bringing you into one of Africa’s most celebrated wildlife havens. Upon arrival, you will be warmly welcomed at Sopa Lodge Mara camp. After check-in and a hearty lunch, take time to relax and soak in the stunning savannah views. In the late afternoon, set out on your first game drive, when wildlife is most active. This is your opportunity to spot members of the Big Five that is lion, leopard, elephant, buffalo, and, with luck, the elusive rhino,as well as giraffes, zebras, wildebeest, and various antelope. As the sun dips behind the horizon, enjoy a classic Maasai Mara sundowner before returning to your lodge for dinner and an evening around the campfire, possibly with a Maasai warrior performance or storytelling under the stars.

Day 2 begins early with a sunrise game drive, offering breathtaking golden light and increased chances of seeing predators on the hunt. For an unforgettable experience, consider a hot air balloon safari, drifting silently above the plains followed by a champagne breakfast in the bush. After returning to camp, enjoy a late breakfast and some downtime. In the late morning or early afternoon, visit a traditional Maasai village nearby. This cultural excursion provides insight into the daily lives, customs, and crafts of the Maasai people and includes performances of their famous jumping dances. After lunch and some rest, head out on another afternoon game drive, this time exploring a different part of the reserve, such as the Mara River, where crocodiles and hippos dwell—and where dramatic wildebeest crossings take place during the Great Migration (July–October). Back at camp in the evening, enjoy a quiet dinner with the sounds of the African night as your backdrop.

Enjoy a final early morning safari, perfect for capturing those last memorable encounters, perhaps a lion pride at dawn or elephants on the move. After breakfast at the lodge, take in the views one last time before checking out. You’ll be begin the drive back to Nairobi, bringing an end to your unforgettable Maasai Mara safari adventure.
