4 Days Sossusvlei - Swakopmund Tour

Your safari begins with departure from Windhoek in the morning. After a short briefing with your guide, you travel south-west towards the Namib Desert, passing through scenic mountain passes and vast open landscapes. On arrival in the Sossusvlei region, you check in at your lodge located within or near the desert conservation area. The afternoon is spent relaxing after the journey or enjoying an optional sunset drive in the surrounding dunes. As the sun sets, the desert transforms into golden and red hues, offering incredible photography opportunities. Dinner is served at the lodge. Meal plan includes dinner only.

The day begins very early with a sunrise departure into the desert. You enter the Namib-Naukluft area and proceed towards Sossusvlei, one of the highest dune fields in the world. You will climb the famous dunes, including Dune 45 and Big Daddy, for panoramic views of the desert landscape. You then continue to Deadvlei, a white clay pan surrounded by ancient dead camelthorn trees, creating one of Africa’s most photographed scenes. A visit to Sesriem Canyon is included, showcasing millions of years of geological history carved by water erosion. In the afternoon, you return to the lodge for rest, swimming, or optional nature walks. Meal plan includes breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

After breakfast, you depart the desert and travel northwest towards the Atlantic coast. The journey offers dramatic scenery as the dunes gradually give way to gravel plains and coastal winds. You arrive in Swakopmund by afternoon and check in at your hotel. The rest of the day is free for leisure activities such as walking around town, visiting the beachfront, or enjoying optional adventure activities like quad biking or sandboarding. Swakopmund is known for its German colonial architecture, relaxed atmosphere, and adventure sports scene. Meal plan includes breakfast only.

After breakfast, you have time for optional activities such as a dolphin cruise in Walvis Bay, a visit to the salt pans, or shopping in Swakopmund town. Later, you begin your return journey to Windhoek via the scenic inland route. You will pass through desert landscapes and mountain ranges, with stops for photography along the way. Arrival in Windhoek is in the afternoon, marking the end of the tour. Meal plan includes breakfast only.
