Your journey begins at Umbwe Gate, where you’ll hike through dense rainforest filled with towering trees and rich biodiversity. As you ascend, the lush jungle transitions into heath and moorland, revealing stunning panoramic views of Mount Kilimanjaro’s peaks.
On day three, you’ll reach Barranco Camp, famous for its breathtaking scenery and the iconic Barranco Wall—a steep but exhilarating climb that tests your endurance and determination. As you push forward, the landscape changes into alpine desert, with dramatic rock formations and open skies leading toward Barafu Camp, your final stop before the summit push.
The most challenging part of the climb begins on the fifth day, with a midnight ascent to Uhuru Peak (5,895m / 19,341 ft). Trekking under the stars, you’ll experience the magic of the mountain as you approach the summit in time to witness a spectacular sunrise over Africa. Reaching the top is an unforgettable achievement, rewarding you with breathtaking views and an overwhelming sense of accomplishment.
After celebrating at the summit, the descent begins, taking you through the changing landscapes of Kilimanjaro. The final day leads you back through the lush rainforest, completing your extraordinary adventure. Throughout the journey, expert guides, porters, and chefs ensure your safety, comfort, and success.

Umbwe Gate to Umbwe Cave Camp
After breakfast, drive to Umbwe Gate (1,640m/5,380ft) for registration. The hike begins through a dense rainforest with steep trails. This is a challenging day with continuous uphill trekking. Arrive at Umbwe Cave Camp for the night.

Leave the rainforest behind and enter the moorland zone. The trail becomes steeper as you climb along a ridge with stunning views. Arrive at Barranco Camp, where you’ll spend the night.

Start the day by climbing the Barranco Wall, a fun but challenging section. Continue hiking through valleys and rocky paths to reach Karanga Camp for a well-deserved rest.

Today’s hike is short but steep, leading to Barafu Camp, the base camp for the summit. Spend the afternoon resting and preparing for the final climb.

Start the final climb around midnight. Reach Stella Point (5,756m/18,885ft), then continue to Uhuru Peak (5,895m/19,341ft), the highest point in Africa! After taking in the views, descend to Mweka Camp.
