The 7 Days Lemosho Route is one of the most scenic and successful Kilimanjaro routes, starting from the west and merging with the Machame trail. It offers a gradual ascent, excellent for acclimatization, and stunning panoramic views. This 7-day version includes a balanced itinerary with a good mix of hiking and rest, giving trekkers a strong chance of reaching Uhuru Peak — the highest point in Africa.

Day wise Itinerary

• Day 1 : Arrival in Arusha or Moshi

  Airport pickup and transfer to your hotel. Meet your guide for briefing, gear check, and rest before the adventure begins.

• Day 2 : Lemosho Gate (2,100m) – Mti Mkubwa Camp (2,650m)

  Begin your trek through lush rainforest teeming with wildlife. Overnight at Mti Mkubwa Camp.

  Ascend through forest and onto the Shira Plateau, crossing ridges and valleys. Camp at Shira 1 with stunning views of Kibo.

  Enjoy an easy trek across the plateau. Spend the afternoon exploring the area or taking an acclimatization hike.

• Day 5 : Shira 2 – Lava Tower (4,600m) – Barranco Camp (3,976m)

  Distance: 10 km
  Climb to Lava Tower for acclimatization, then descend to Barranco Camp, famous for its sunset views and proximity to the Barranco Wall.

  Distance: 9 km
  Ascend the Barranco Wall, traverse alpine terrain, and reach Barafu Camp, your basecamp for the summit attempt. Early dinner and rest before midnight push.

• Day 7 : Barafu – Uhuru Peak (5,895m) – Mweka Camp (3,100m)

  Hiking Time: 12–14 hours
  
  Distance: ~15 km
  Start the summit attempt at midnight, reaching Stella Point at sunrise and Uhuru Peak shortly after. Celebrate briefly, then descend to Mweka Camp.

  Descend through rainforest to Mweka Gate, where you’ll receive your certificate. Drive back to your hotel for a well-earned rest.
