Package Overview

The Rongai route, known for its scenic beauty, leads climbers to Kibo from the lesser-traveled and arid northeastern part of Kilimanjaro. Departing in close proximity to the Kenyan border, this route offers breathtaking views of the African savannah and rugged Mawenzi. After passing Mawenzi Tarn Camp, climbers will come across the sole mountain lake in Kilimanjaro National Park. The trail is well-established and passes through fir forests, rainforests, and alpine deserts. Although generally considered an easy route, some of the rockier stages in the summit area may prove to be more challenging. The descent follows the Marangu route, traversing through lush green rainforests on well-maintained paths. Overnight stays in mountain tents are mandatory throughout the climb.

Just before today’s destination is reached, one last rock passage has to be conquered. Finally you will arrive at the Kibo Hut, where you can relax and mentally prepare yourself for tomorrow’s summit stage. Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner.

In late November 2025, four friends and I from India did the Marangu Route with Aardvark Expeditions, and it was a great experience every step of the way. In the weeks leading up to our climb, we exchanged many emails with the Aardvark Expeditions sales staff. Their quick responses and thorough explanations were what persuaded us to book with them. While climbing, our guide (Gabriel and Fred) were extremely professional. They adapted their pace to ours, provided encouraging words and advice to help us acclimatise, and made sure we were safe at all times. The food that Erik and Abuu prepared was another highlight. The meals were fresh, filling and served to us with a smile. Aardvark Expeditions made our first Kili attempt feel possible, secure and fun. Highly recommended!

Our 8-day Lemosho Route Climb was a wonderful opportunity to climb Mount Kilimanjaro with our companions from India and family members from the United States of America. The Sales Team supports a high level of responsiveness to customers' needs during the booking process. We felt an immediate connection with the Aardvark Expeditions Limited because of the quick response times and open and honest communication etc. Our head guide, Fred and assistant guide Bariki were excellent leaders who provided good guidance and concern for all climbers throughout the entire Kilimanjaro Trek. They kept climbers safe, happy and comfortable throughout each stage of the trek. We reached the summit of Kilimanjaro with a sense of accomplishment, confidence and pride. For us, this climb was about the journey and the people who helped us along the way to reach the summit. We highly recommend this team to anyone looking to climb Kilimanjaro.

The Absolute Best Team on Kilimanjaro A group of 4 climbers from India, along with 3 friends from the UK, completed an arduous climb via the 7-day Machame Route with Aardvark Expeditions, and they exceeded our every expectation along the way. The first impression we had of Aardvark Expeditions (Philemon Joel) was one of speed in responding to our requests, providing clear directions, and making truthful declarations about what to expect when we booked. Booking our climb was made easy due to the assistance provided by the sales team. During the actual climb, the guiding team of Bariki and Jonathan performed exceptionally well. They were vigilant in their monitoring of climbers, supported us when altitude sickness hit, and continuously provided motivation throughout our trek on the mountain. The summit day was incredibly emotional, and all Aardvark Expeditions staff were there at the summit to celebrate with us for achieving our goal.
