Package Overview

Why RONGAI ROUTE?
The Rongai Route is a distinctive and less crowded trail for climbing Mount Kilimanjaro, starting from the northern side near the Kenyan border. Rongai is the only route to approach Kilimanjaro from the north and the descent is via the Marangu Route. Unlike the more popular routes, Rongai route offers a unique perspective with its gradual ascent through varied landscapes, from the lush rainforest to the arid alpine desert. The trail provides stunning and serene views of the mountain’s northeastern face and allows climbers to experience a more remote and tranquil setting. Its relative seclusion and picturesque scenery make it a favored choice for honeymooners seeking a more intimate and romantic adventure. Additionally, the Rongai Route often features better weather conditions, as it is on the drier side of the mountain, enhancing the overall trekking experience. The distance from Moshi town to the Rongai Gate, the starting point of the Rongai Route is approximately 97 kilometers which may take around 2-3 hours by car, depending on road conditions and traffic

N.B:

Please note that the 7 days mentioned refer to the actual trekking days on the mountain. In addition, you need to account for 2 extra days—one for arrival and one for departure—making the total trip 9 days.

Departure/Safari Day
