Starting on the western side of the mountain, the trail passes through rainforest, alpine meadows, and high desert before joining the Machame Route. While shorter than the full Lemosho itinerary, this 6-day trek is ideal for experienced hikers seeking a scenic and slightly faster route to the summit.
Arrive at Kilimanjaro International Airport, where you’ll be picked up and transferred to your hotel. Meet your guide for a briefing and gear check. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.

Hiking Time: 3–4 hours Distance: 7 km Vegetation Zone: Montane Forest Drive to Lemosho Gate and register. Begin trekking through lush forest while watching for monkeys and birds. Overnight at Mti Mkubwa Camp.

Hiking Time: 7–9 hours Distance: 16 km Trek across Shira Ridge and the Shira Plateau, passing Shira 1 Camp and continuing to Shira 2 Camp. This day offers amazing views of Kibo Peak and Mount Meru.
