Amarnath Yatra

Day 1: Srinagar

Srinagar - On arrival at Srinagar, you will meet our representative at the airport and transfer to deluxe houseboat. Overnight stay at houseboat.

Day 2: Mughal Gardens

Srinagar local sightseeing - Half day tour of world famous Mughal Gardens visiting the Nishat bagh (The garden of pleasure) built by Asif Jha in 1636 and Shalimar Bagh (Abode of Love) built by Jehangir for his beloved wife Nur Jahan in 1619. Afternoon Shikara ride on the dal lake to enjoy the beauty of the city. Overnight at houseboat.

Day 3: Srinagar - Sonmarg - Baltal

Srinagar - Sonmarg - Baltal - Drive to Sonmarg (2690 m) which is the most beautiful drive from Srinagar. Lunch at Sonmarg, continue drive towards Baltal. Overnight in tents.

Day 4: Baltal - Amarnath - Baltal

Baltal - Amarnath- Baltal - Leave early morning for Amarnath holy cave (3953 m) where you can see ice shivlingam.this holy cave is visited by thousands of hindu Pilgrims on the full moon. From Amarnath steep descend towards Baltal 4hrs walk. Over night in tents.

Day 5: Baltal - Sonmarg - Srinagar

Baltal - Sonmarg - Srinagar - After breakfast leave for Srinagar, arrive Srinagar at lunch time. Overnight at house boat. Evening visit to Shankracharya Temple (Shiva temple), from where you can view the magnificent beauty of srinagar city and lakes.over night at houseboat.

Day 6: Dept Srinagar

Dept Srinagar - Afternoon transfer to the airport for onward destination.

Amarnath - One of the holy trinity, Shiva is a living god. The most sacred and most ancient book of India, the Rig Veda evokes his presence in its hymns, Vedic Myths, rituals and even testify to his existance from the dawn of time. Legend has it that Shiva recounted to Parvati the secret of creation in a cave in Amarnath. Unknown to them, a pair of doves eavesdropped on this conversation and having learnt the secret, are reborn again and again, and have made the cave their eternal abode. The annual yatra to Holy Amarnath Cave, situated at 14000 ft. above sea level, is organised by the Jammu & Kashmir State Government during the month of July and August. The intending pilgrims are allowed to perform darshan from Ashard Purnimashi to Shravan Purnimashi which course spreads over a month or so.
