Annapurna Sanctuary Trek a 16 days trek is a hidden treasure of Himalaya's assets with meadows, moraine and glaciers rinsed by outstanding steep-walled glaciated peaks. We start from Pokhara itself, crossing river beds and terraced hillsides, on trails disappearing into blazing rhododendron clusters and oak forest, to charming Ghandruk village - principal village of the Gurungs. We go on to the deep narrow corridor of Mardi Gorge, finally entering to the sanctuary- a spectacular mountain amphitheatre formed by the towering peaks of Annapurna South, Fang , Annapurna I and III , Gangapurna, Glacier Dome and Machhapuchhare . We pitch camp at approximately 14,000 ft, in the middle of these awesome surroundings. On return, we descend through the great Kali Gandaki gorge and cross the Deorali Pass. From Deorali pass we can have a bird eye view of the beautiful Kali Gandaki valley. Normally we will have a day as rest in Ghorepani, from where we will have a short climb up to Poon Hill. Poon Hill is worthwhile to get a sweeping view of the entire western Himalaya, including the giant Dhaulagiri.

Day wise Itinerary

• Day 1 : Arrival

  Arrive / Transfer to Hotel / briefing / Free

• Day 2 : Kathmandu

  Kathmandu guided city tour

• Day 3 : Pokhara

  We drive from Kathmandu to Pokhara which will take about 5 to 6 hours of bus ride. Or fly via our 30 minutes scenic mountain flight.

• Day 4 : Tikhedhunga

  We drive from Pokhara to Tikhedhunga (1,577 m.) during which we will have Two-hour drive to Birethanti, and start trekking following Bhurungi Khola and reach Tikhedhunga. Overnight at lodge.

• Day 5 : Ghorepani

  Trek from Tikhedhunga to Ghorepani (2,855 m.): We ascend to Ulleri Village through a pleasant Rhododendron forest and arrive at the top of Ghorepani pass. Overnight at lodge.

• Day 6 : Tadapani

  Trek from Ghorepani to Tadapani (2,680 m.). On day 6th we wake up early and walk all the way up to Poon Hill from where observe the Sun-rise and a magnificent mountain view for an hour and descend down back to Ghorepani for breakfast and start trekking to Tadapani. Overnight at lodge.

• Day 7 : Chomrong

  Trek from Tadapani to Chomrong (1,951 m.): we trek through easy way down to Kimrung Khola for lunch and again ascend to Chomrong village which lies at the base of Himchuli at the elevation of 6,441m. This also offers a close view of Annapurna and Macchupucchre. Overnight at lodge.

• Day 8 : Trek

  Trek from Chomrong to Himalaya Hotel (2,873 m.): we continue our trek heading to Kuldi Ghar for about 3 hrs and down to the bank of Modi river viewing thickets of bamboo at the bottom of the gorge. Finally Passing by the pasture of Tomo and Panchen Barah we climb up to Himalayan Hotel. Overnight at lodge.

• Day 9 : Trek

  Trek from Himalayan Hotel to Annapurna Base Camp (4130 m.): We trek keeping up on the west bank of Modi Khola, following a more .open valley at the side of Machhapuchare Base Camp leaving the choice- either to stay there or continue to the Annapurna Base Camp. Overnight at lodge.

• Day 10 : Annapurna Base Camp

  On 10th day we climb up to Annapurna Base Camp: This is usually a rest day. However, the glacial moraine, charismatic mountain views can be indulged in. Excursion of one of the biggest glaciers (Annapurna Glacier) is just another charm. Overnight at lodge.

• Day 11 : Bamboo

  We descend from Annapurna Base Camp to Bamboo and follow the same way to a pleasant camp spot at Bamboo. Overnight at lodge.

• Day 12 : Chomrong

  We continue trek from Bamboo walking up to Chomrong and further way down to Himal pani / Jhinu Dada. Overnight at lodge.

• Day 13 : Pothana

  We trek from Himalpani to Pothana (1980m). We walk downwards to Modi river and ascend to Landrung - a beautiful Gurung village and have lunch at Tolkha, yet another easy ascent will take up to Pothana . Overnight at Pothana.

• Day 14 : Pokhara

  We trek back from Pothana to Pokhara which will take about 3-4 hours easy way down via Dhampus village to Phedi then one hour drive to reach Pokhara.

• Day 15 : Kathmandu

  From Pokhara we return back to Kathmandu via bus or back to Kathmandu by flight.

• Day 16 : Departure

  Departure/ drive to Airport Minimum
