Day 1 : Arrival in Kalimpong
Kalimpong considered as the oldest town in hills of Darjeeling was once the head quarter of Bhutanese Governor, the word Kalim means “ Minister” and pong is “stronghold”. It is also called Kalibong or the “Black spur” by the locals and to the local Lepcha people it is known as Ka (we) –LEM (play) – PONG ( ridge), ” The ridge where we play”. Kalimpong was silk route to the Tibet and also famous center of eastern and central Tibetan wool trade. Explore local market in the evening. Overnight at Hotel
Day 2 : Kalimpong Sightseeing
Proceed for Kalimpong sightseeing after breakfast. Visit the magnificent towering monastery of Zang Dog Palri on the Durpin Dara, which has a commanding view of Kalimpong town and the surrounding region. If the day is clear we will be able to see the ranges of Kanchenjunga and also some of the Bhutanese hills. Day 3 : Kalimpong to Jaldapara
The wildlife sanctuary of Jaldapara is home to Indian one-horned rhino, Asiatic elephants, Indian bison and many other animals and birds of endangered species. This forest area was labelled as a wildlife sanctuary during British era and later the Union Forest and Environment Ministry announced it as a national park. Overnight at hotel
Day 4 : Coochbehar & Chilapata
Take the elephant ride in the ealry morning. After breakfast, visit Royal Palace of Raj Bari & Madan Mohan Bari of Coochbehar and Chilapata Wildlife Sanctuary of Chilapata. Back to Jaldapara Overnight at hotel
Day 5 : Jaldapara to Thimpu
This small city was established as the capital in 1961 and is famous for being the only capital in the world without traffic lights! Enroute Immigration process at Indo-Bhutan Border. Overnight at hotel
Day 6 : Thimpu Sightseeing
A full day tour of Thimphu’s cultural sites and monuments include Memorial Chorten, traditional Art school or Painting school, Indigenous Hospital, Nunnery at Zilukha, a short drive up to a view point for aerial view of the capital and its suburbs. Along the way, visit Takin Sanctuary, the national animal of Bhutan. Also visit giant Buddha statue. There are others like Zangdopelri temple, Changangkha monastery, Simtokha Dzong, Crafts workshop, Textile museum which can be visited as per available time or based on your interests. Day 7 : Thimpu - Paro & Sightseeing
Paro valley is one of the loveliest in Bhutan. The willow trees and apple orchards line many of the roads. Large whitewashed farmhouses and temples complement the terraced fields with forested hills rising on either side to create a beautiful, organic and peaceful whole. Paro is also excellent agricultural land and the people here are better off than many elsewhere in Bhutan. Visit Chela La View Point after lunch. Overnight at hotel
Day 8 : Paro Sightseeing
Ta Dzong watchtover Museum, beautiful 7th century Kichu Lhakhang and also cover Dumtse Lhakhang temple, known hold some of the finest murals in the kingdom. In the afternoon drive short distance and take a short walk to visit Dzongdrakha cave temples. Taktsang Gompa,one of the most amazing and important pieces of architecture in Bhutan and The ruins of Drugyal Dzong. Overnight at hotel
Day 9 : Departure from Paro
After breakfast, transfer to Paro airport for departure.
