Package Overview

The excursion starts from the port with a panoramic tour with a private adapted minivan that will take you to the famous Punic Wall, where you will learn about the origins of Cartagena´s history. The Punic Wall is one of the first defensive walls of the city and one of the few remains of Carthaginian civilization in Spain. The itinerary continues to one of the most important legacy of the Roman period, the great Roman Theater and its Museum. The theater was built between 5 and 1 BC and had a capacity of some 6,000 spectators. Our Cartagena accessible shore excursion continues with a stroll through the city’s port, protected by the great wall of Charles III where the first prototype of a submarine was made by the cartagenian Isaac Peral.

Next in the tour is a visit to the historical center where you can admire the beautiful examples of modernist architecture of early twentieth century, and have free time for shopping before the lunch break. Lunch will be served at a suggested local restaurant offering Spanish specialities (The restaurant has step-free access and offers an adapted toilet).

After lunch the tour continues with a visit to a local family winery where you will receive a warm welcome and will be introduced to a local Cartagenian wine making process, as well as participate at a wine tasting of different artisan produced wines together with an assortment of local cheeses and sobrasadas. After a peaceful rest and a detailed explanation of the history of this unique venue and Cartagena´s tradition around wine, you will be picked-up to be back at the ship on time.
