ABOUT CHAKRATA

Embellished by the sun-kissed Himalayan ranges, the beauteous hill station of Chakrata is seated at an elevation of 2,118 metres above sea level. This secluded hilly town is cradled in the Dehradun district and is an ideal weekend getaway for the backpackers. Dotted by the coniferous forests, Chakrata is a loner’s delight as it is far away from the hustle and bustle of the city life. Chakrata was developed by the British rulers and was a summer retreat for the high executives of English East India Company. Kharamba peak is the highest mount in Chakrata with an altitude of about 10,000 ft. The mount climbing here is wonderfully an adventurous task. Nature lovers, Trekkers, bird watchers and wild life enthusiasts can spend days together here in the lap of Chakrata exploiting the nature’s hidden treasures and beauties. This mystical hill station features some of the ravishing waterfalls that are enough to entice the weary soul for having a betrothal in the lap of nature, The gorgeous Tiger Waterfall being one of them.
