Chandratal Trek (Lake of Moon)

Himachal Trekking – Chandratal Trek ( Lake of Moon )

Himachal is among most fascinating destination for trekkers, Chandratal (Lake of moon) trek is one such trek in lahoul valley.

The trek passes through the two mighty rivers of Chandra and Bhaga, originate from 4890 mts pass Baralacha la – in opposite directions and later merge with each other to form the Chenab.
River Chenab later becomes the biggest tributaries of the River Indus.

The trek explore the valley up to upper reaches of Chandratal and its source on the Baralacha la where it joins Manali Leh highway.

The main attraction is Chandratal lake, which stands among the beautiful peaks and barren beauty of Lahoul.

Day wise Itinerary

Day 1

Arrive Delhi

Meet and greet upon arrival at International Airport, Transfer to hotel.
over night at hotel in New Delhi.

Day 2

New Delhi – Manali

In time transfer to railway station to board Train to Chandigarh. Pick up from Chandigarh Railway station and drive to Manali.
Overnight in Manali.

Day 3

Manali

After breakfast proceed to sight seeing tours in and around Manali,
overnight at Hotel.

Day 4

Manali – Khanol

After breakafast drive to Jagatsukh, then start the trek upwards through Jagatsukh Nallah.The trek passes through green forests and variety of vegetation before reaching to Khanol.In the east ward from Khanol is mighty mountain of Deo Tibba.
Overnight in Camp.

Day 5

Khanol – Chhika

Trek a steep stretch of 4 Kms which passes through forests and open into a long wide plateau with flowers and green grass to Chikka,Chikka is also famous as best place for rock climbing. Overnight in camp.

Day 6

Chhika – Tenta

The route passes along the bank of Jagatsukh and reach to Seri.Seri once was having a glaciated lake now transformed to a meadow with variety of herbs and alpine flowers.Along the trek you will also witness the beauty of mount Deo Tibba from much closer distance.
Overnight in camp.

Activities : Hill Stations & Valleys , Lakes & Rivers , Trekking
Day 7

Tenta – Chandertal – Tenta

Early morning you will start trek to Chandertal, the main attraction of beautiful lake with emerald blue water at the base of Deo Tibba.This place is also suitable for the persons who have interest in herbs and flowering plants.Spend some time relax there and back to camp in Tenta

Day 8

Tenta – Bhanara

The trek descend down to Bhanara Village, explore surroundings and view more mountains.
Overnight in Camp/tent.

Day 9

Bhanara – Manali

Trek descend to Jagatsukh Village En route visit Temple and historical cave Arjun Gufa.
Meet with villagers explore some culture.
over night in Camp/Tent.

Day 10

Jagatsukh – Manali – Dalhi

After breakfast drive to Manali in time transfer to airport to board flight on onward destination.
