Shimla is the former summer capital of the British in India, and the present capital of Himachal Pradesh. Today, it has well developed facilities, easy accessibility and many beautiful attractions making it one of India's most popular hill station. Situated in the lower ranges of the Himalayan mountains, it is surrounded by pine Deodar, oak and rhododendron forests. Towards the north lie the snow-covered high-ranges, while the valleys breathe whispering streams and swaying fields. Chail :- The little village of Chail was perfect. It lay surrounded by magnificent Deodar forests, Shimla was in direct vision and most importantly, Chail at 2226 m was somewhat higher than British controlled Shimla. There are good sightseeing places and possibility of some fishing and trekking. Chail also has the world's highest cricket pitch and polo ground. Chail was perfect - it was surrounded by a thick cover of majestic, soaring Deodar, Simla was just 45 kms away, and most significantly, the hill of Chail was decidedly higher than the then British - controlled Shimla. On the other side of the town are situated the massive Himalayan ranges spectacularly gleaming in the sun and snow-covered every thing under it.
