Dzongri Trek is the most popular trek in Sikkim. The trek begin from Yuksom located on western part of Sikkim. Soon you begin the trek from Yuksom to Dzongri you will be able to capture the magnificient view of Kanchenjunga. The trail passes through forest of oak,pine, maple and Rhododendron. You can also capture animals like Himalayan Black Bear, Barking Deer, Musk Deer, Marbled Cat, Langur and the Red Panda.
Darjeeling - Yuksom (123 Kms/6-7 Hrs)
We will drive to Yuksom which is the base of our trek. The drive is around 6-7 hours from Darjeeling.
Yuksom - Tshokh (3000 Mts/10,000 Ft) (14 Kms/5-6 Hrs)
We will begin the trail right from Yuksom crossing the main street , local market and slowly climb towards the north. We will walk for 6hrs crossing waterfalls like Churchery, Mintogang and stream like Pakhola & Chusey. Overnight at Tshokh.
Tshokh - Dzongri (4030 Mts/13218 Ft) (10 Kms/5-6 Hrs)
The trek passes through the village of Tshokh and continues to climb through the forest of rhododendron to reach Dzongri. Overnight stay.
Rest Day At Dzongri
This is the Rest day. The main purpose of our trek is to capture the beauty of Himalayas. We will walk for half and hour and get to the top of Dzongri. You will be able to see a panoramic view of Kabru (7353 m), Ratong (6678 m), Kanchenjunga (8534 m), Koktang (6147 m), Pandim (6691 m) and Narsing (5825 m). Towards the west, the Singalila Ridge, which separates Sikkim from Nepal. Overnight stay.
Dzongri To Tshoka
We will walk downhill to Tshoka and stay overnight in Tshoka.
Tshoka To Yuksom.
We will trek same way back to Yuksom and stay overnight in hotel in Yuksom. Trek Ends.
Yuksom - Darjeeling
Drive to Darjeeling or Gangtok as per your requirement.
