EVEREST BASE CAMP TREK

Arrival in Kathmandu. You land in Kathmandu a city of temples with narrow alleys where the air and prayer bells echo softly. The Himalayas are not visible yet but you can already feel their presence. Tonight you rest in the capital and prepare for the adventure ahead. Meals include a welcome dinner and accommodation is at a hotel in Kathmandu.

Kathmandu is a city of art and culture and today you have the opportunity to explore a few world heritage sites including Kathmandu Durbar Square Swayambhunath Stupa and the local Ason market. After lunch there is a final trek discussion and trekking gear list review with last minute gear shopping available in Thamel before packing. An evening dinner with a cultural performance introduces you to Nepalese culture. Meals: Breakfast and Dinner. Accommodation: Hotel.

Short scenic flight from Kathmandu to Lukla bringing you into the Himalayas. From Lukla the trek begins walking beside the Dudh Koshi River crossing suspension bridges and passing through tiny villages until reaching Phakding where you overnight at a guesthouse. Trek from Phakding to Namche Bazaar. The trail steepens as pine forests open to glimpses of white peaks. Suspension bridges swing high above rushing rivers and after hours of steady climbing you arrive at Namche Bazaar the Sherpa capital with bustling markets bakeries and panoramic mountain views. Overnight at a guesthouse in Namche Bazaar.

Acclimatization day in Namche Bazaar at 3,440 m. A gentle hike to the Everest View Hotel offers the chance to see Everest Lhotse and Ama Dablam if skies are clear. The acclimatization hike helps build strength and adjust to altitude. Overnight at a guesthouse in Namche Bazaar.

Trek from Namche Bazaar to Debuche. The trail winds along ridges with sweeping vistas Mani stones carved with prayers line the path and yak bells echo through the valleys. You pass Tengboche Monastery with its golden roof before descending to the quiet village of Debuche surrounded by prayer flags. Overnight at a guesthouse in Debuche.

Trek from Debuche to Dingboche. The air grows thinner and mountains draw closer as rivers carve deep valleys and stone walled fields appear. In Dingboche you are surrounded by peaks such as Ama Dablam and Island Peak giving a sense of both vastness and intimacy. Meals include Breakfast Launch and Dinner and accommodation at a guesthouse in Dingboche.

Acclimatization day in Dingboche. A climb to Nangkartsang Peak above 5,000 meters provides wide panoramic views including Makalu Lhotse and Ama Dablam. The day is focused on building altitude strength before continuing the ascent. Overnight at a guesthouse in Dingboche.

Trek from Dingboche to Lobuche. The path winds past memorials dedicated to climbers with stone chortens and fluttering prayer flags along the way. The trail rises into colder winds and by evening you reach Lobuche a small settlement close to the higher Everest region. Overnight at a guesthouse.

Trek from Lobuche towards Everest Base Camp. The trail is rocky and the air thin but the anticipation builds with every step. At Everest Base Camp 5364m you see the Khumbu Icefall and prayer flags celebrating the mountain. That night you stay in Gorak Shep the last settlement before the high camps. Meals and accommodation as per customization with overnight at a guesthouse in Gorak Shep.

Pre dawn climb to Kala Patthar at approximately 5550m to witness sunrise views of Everest Nuptse Pumori and Ama Dablam. After the sunrise and photographic opportunities you descend and continue the trek down to Pheriche at around 4200m where warmer air and meals welcome you. Overnight at a guesthouse in Pheriche.

Trek descending from Pheriche back towards Namche Bazaar. As you descend oxygen returns forests thicken and villages become more lively. By evening you arrive back in Namche Bazaar where the town feels familiar and welcoming. Overnight at a guesthouse in Namche Bazaar.

Continuation of the descent across rivers and valleys as you make your way back to Lukla. This marks the final stretch of walking on the trail and offers time to reflect on the journey. Overnight at a guesthouse in Lukla.

Final scenic flight from Lukla to Kathmandu. In minutes the mountains fade into clouds and you return to Kathmandu with its vibrant streets and timeless spirit. Accommodation in a hotel in Kathmandu for the night.

Farewell and departure from Kathmandu. After breakfast you make your way to the airport to conclude the journey. The trek ends in Kathmandu leaving lasting memories of rivers glaciers prayer flags and the sight of Everest. Meals include breakfast.
