Hassan
Hassan: Found by the chieftain Channa Krishnappa Naik in the 11th century, Hassan city is the headquarters of the Hassan district in Karnataka. Named after the local deity Hassanamba, this district is the architectural capital of Karnataka. The rich culture of the Hoysalas can be seen all over the district. The Hoysala dynasty ruled from Dwara Samudra the capital city then, between the 11th and 14th century. The ruins can still be found in and around Halebid in the Hassan district. Though the rulers of this dynasty belonged to the Jain faith, temples for Lord Shiva can be seen spread over the entire region. Well known for its historical values, Hassan now is city which has grown in leaps and bounds.
Today if you Start your Journey from Msyore then on the way, make a stopover at Sravanbelagola and visit the 17.7mtr high monolithic statue of first Jain sage Gommateshwara Bahubali and the various Frescoes. Belur and Halebid
In the morning, after breakfast, leave for an excursion to Belur and Halebid, which are considered twin cities. The cities were also home to Hoysala dynasty. Visit Cenna Kesava temple and be amazed at the miniature shrines that flank the steps to the Ekatachala temple. Also, visit the Narashima Pillar which used to rotate on its own axis and intricately carved Mohini Pillar in Belur. Post the tour of Belur, visit Halebid and take in the Ancient Hoysala sculpture & Architecture of Hoysaleswar Temple, Dikutachala Temple, Shantaleswara temple and Kedareswara Temple. Return to Hassan for Overnight stay.
Shimoga
Shimoga: is a true natures gift, spread with waterfalls, enchanting natural scenery of hills, dense forests, flora & fauna, forts, swaying palms and abundant paddy fields make for picturesque locales. Shimoga district situated more or less in the mid-south-western part of Karnataka. The western part of Shimoga district includes tropical forests and beautiful hilly areas and the eastern less dense but has several lakes and river valleys.
Shimoga was ruled by the great Indian dynasties of the Kadambas, Gangas, Chalukyas, Rastrakutas, Keladi and Vijaynagar Kings. Shimoga is an important tourist destination, industrial, commercial, fine arts and educational centre.

After breakfast, Leave to visit the Jog Fall, which is indeed one of the beautiful waterfalls in the Karnataka state. The journey from Shimoga to the Jog Falls is about 3 hours. Created by Sharavathi River, the height of the fall is about 830 ft and listed among the major tourist destination. The fall is visited by thousands of visitors every year.
