Day wise Itinerary

• Day 1 : Guwahati Arrival to Shillong (100 km/ca.3 hrs)

  Morning: Arrive at Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport (GAU) or Guwahati Railway Station. Greetings, our representative will meet you.Afternoon: You start on your picturesque journey to Shillong, the Scotchland of the East. The highway cuts across picturesque green hills and provides stunning scenery.
  Arrive at the hotel that you have pre-booked in Shillong and take a shower.
  Evening: Visit the local Police Bazaar which is the busy center of Shillong. It is possible to shop in the local handicrafts and souvenirs and enjoy the colorful atmosphere.
  Eat in a local restaurant (taste traditional Khasi dishes such as Jadoh, Dohneiiong, etc.).
  Overnight stay in Shillong.

• Day 2 : Shillong and Cherrapunji (Sohra) Discovery.

  Morning: Head out after breakfast on a day long excursion to Cherrapunji (officially called Sohra) one of the richest areas on earth.
  Sightseeing Enroute:
  Elephant Falls: This is a waterfall with three levels which is situated at the outskirts of Shillong.
  Shillong Peak: Provides an amazing panoramic view of the whole city as well as the nearby hills (when the weather is good and permission is granted).
  Mawsmai Cave: A stunning cave that is made of limestone and which has interesting formations. (Optional: Double Decker Living root Bridge walk is more vigorous and time consuming).
  Afternoon: See the Nohkalikai falls, the highest plunge waterfall in India. The perspective is magnificent.

  • Themes Caving, Sightseeing
• Day 3 : Shillong to Kaziranga national park (250km / approx. 5-6 hrs)

  Morning: Have an early breakfast and leave the hotel and start heading to the UNESCO World Heritage Site Kaziranga National Park that harbors the Great Indian One-Horned Rhinoceros.
  The road is lengthy yet extremely scenic and goes through tea gardens, the mighty Brahmaputra River and rural Assam.
  Afternoon: Get to the Kaziranga and get into your resort or lodge, which is better taken near the Central or Western Range of the park.
  Lunch at the resort.
  Evening: Have some rest in the resort or visit a nearby Tea Estate or a Local Village to get a glimpse of the Assam culture.
  Overnight stay in Kaziranga.

  • Themes Museums
• Day 4 : Kaziranga Wildlife Safari Tour.

  Early Morning: Prepare an adventurous Elephant Safari (around 5:00 AM -7.30 AM) in the Central Range (Kohora). This is the only way of being close to the rhinos and other wildlife in their natural environment.
  Go back to the resort to have breakfast.
  Late Morning: Jeep Safari within one of the ranges within the park (Central, Western, or Eastern). The terrains of each of the ranges vary somewhat and provide a different wildlife viewing experience. Your naturalist will show you rhinos, wild buffaloes, elephants, deer; and with tremendous good fortune, a tiger.
  Afternoon: Lunch and slight relaxation in the resort.
  Late Afternoon: You may choose another Jeep Safari in another area or go to the ****.
  Kaziranga National Park Orchid and Biodiversity Park to visit an assortment of orchids and local flora/fauna.
  Assamese Cultural Show (which are commonly hosted by resorts in the evening).
  Overnight and Dinner at Kaziranga.

  • Themes Elephant Safari
• Day 5 : Kaziranga to Guwahati (200 km / = 4-5 hrs) and Sightseeing.

  Morning: Take a leisurely breakfast, leave and drive back to Guwahati.
  Afternoon: Reach in Guwahati and stay in your hotel.
  Sightseeing in Guwahati:
  Kamakhya Temple: It is one of the most important and powerful Shakti Peethas in India. (Note that the temple is usually crowded; dress nicely).
  Umananda Temple: This is placed on the tiniest island (Peacock Island) of the Brahmaputra River. Accessible by a short ferry boat.
  Evening: Visit the
