Day 1 : Arrive Cochin
Begin your Kerala tour with the arrival at Cochin airport where you will be met and assisted. You will be transferred in an air-conditioned vehicle to your hotel. Check-in at your pre-booked hotel. In the afternoon proceed for a sightseeing tour of Cochin. See the Jewish Synagogue, Dutch Palace and the Chinese fishing nets (Jewish Synagogue, Dutch Palace are closed on Fridays). Cochin: This city perfectly reflects the eclecticism of Kerala. See here the St. Francis Church, the oldest church in India. Winding streets, crammed with 500-year-old Portuguese houses, add to the quaint charm of this city. A Jewish community, whose roots go back to 1,000 AD, still maintains its 16th century synagogue. Mattancherry Palace contains some of India’s most beautiful murals. Fort Cochin is one of the country’s largest ports and a major naval base. Here, one can still see the famous 14th-15th century cantilevered Chinese fishing nets. Overnight stay is at the hotel.
Day 2 : Cochin - Munnar
After breakfast, you will be transferred by road to Munnar on the second day of your Kerala tour. On arrival check-in at the hotel. Munnar: Munnar is a hill station established by the British and situated on the Western Ghats (1,800 meters above sea level). This picturesque little town has gentle hills of tea, coffee and cardamom plantations. One can visit the nearby lakes, reservoirs, forest and tea estates. Rest of the day is at leisure to relax. Overnight stay is at the hotel.
Day 3 : Munnar
After breakfast enjoy a city tour of Munnar visiting the Christ Church, Rajamala Hills lying adjacent to the park. Also stop by the Madupetty Dam, a famous picnic spot for boating and horse riding en route to Top Station (Boating and horse riding on direct payment). Also visit the Tea museum and see tea making process. You can also purchase fine quality local tea from here. Enjoy rest of the day at leisure and relax in the surroundings of the hotel. Overnight stay is at the hotel.
Day 4 : Munnar - Thekkady
After breakfast, you will be transferred via roadways to Periyar, known for its Wildlife reserves. On arrival in Periyar, check-in at the hotel. Periyar was the first wildlife sanctuary in the state. It was set up in 1934 and forms part of the Western Ghats mountain range. The Periyar sanctuary is a rare instance of human meddling having enhanced rather than damaged an ecosystem. A boat ride on Lake Periyar allows you to observe the animals in their natural habitat. Cruising on the mist-shrouded lake you are likely to see animals such as Wild Boar, Sambar Deer, Wild Dogs, Langoor Monkeys and Wild Elephants. (Boat ride is subject to availability & operation) Overnight stay is at the hotel.
Day 5 : Thekkady - Kumarakom
After breakfast, you will be transferred via roadways to Kumarakom. On arrival in Kumarakom, check in at the hotel. The enchanting backwater destination of Kumarakom is a small village that is a cluster of little islands on the Vembanad Lake in Kerala. Kumarakom strengthens Kerala’s reputation of being God’s own country with its unbelievably beautiful mangrove forests and emerald green paddy fields interspersed with enchanting waterways and canals. It is a breathtaking bout to experience a solitary and calm glide through this network of waterways. Rest of the day is at leisure to relax. Overnight stay is at the hotel.
Day 6 : Kumarakom
Enjoy breakfast at hotel. The day is at leisure to explore the backwaters, known for small water canals surrounded by lush green paddy fields and swaying palms. You may also enjoy an Ayurvedic message at the hotel (On Direct Payment). Overnight stay is at the hotel.
Day 7 : Kumarakom - Cochin
After breakfast, you will be dropped off at the Cochin airport for your return journey.
