Package Overview

This is the classic trek in the Langtang region that takes us to the pristine Gosainkunda Lake via Lauribina Pass.

Langtang is situated in the north of Kathmandu valley and to the south of Nepal-Tibet border. Extending from Kathmandu to Tibetan border it comparatively attracts few trekkers than other main trekking areas of Everest and Annapurna. With Ganesh Himal in the west along with the range of 6000to 7000m peaks, the northern part of Langtang has Langtang National Parks.

The main ethnic groups residing here include Sherpas and Tamang whose cultural antiquity, language, lifestyle and religious practice is similar to that of Tibetan people.

Langtang valley was first explored by Bill Tilman, a well-known Himalayan explorer and mountaineer, who once describe it as “one of the world’s most beautiful valleys”. The trail winds through the richly dense forest of Rhododendron and Oak which provides habitat to endangered Red Panda, Himalayan black bear and Musk deer.

The valley opens to an alpine plateau offering the astonishing vista of Langtang and Ganesh Himal. From Kyangin Gompa one can explore the glaciated upper valley which is surrounded by snow clad Himalayas. The trail takes up to Gosainkunda through high altitude alpine meadows and then we will cross Laurebina La pass which is dotted with Buddhist prayer flags. After the pass the trail descends down to Helambu valley with the surreal Himalayan view in the north and forested hills in the south.
