Trek from Machame Gate (1790m) to Machame Camp (3010m) on the first day of the Machame 7 day route. This day establishes the initial ascent along trails that introduce climbers to the mountain environment and sets the pace for acclimatisation.

Trek from Machame Camp (3010m) to Shira Camp (3845m). This leg continues ascent into higher altitude zones providing further acclimatisation and exposure to the changing mountain environment.

Trek from Shira Cave (3845m) to Barranco Camp (3960m). The day covers the route between the Shira plateau area and the Barranco camp zone as climbers progress along the Machame route.

Trek from Barranco Camp (3960m) to Karanga Camp (3963m). This day links the Barranco and Karanga camps as part of the Machame route allowing continued acclimatisation at high altitude.

Trek from Karanga Camp (3963m) to Barafu Camp (4640m). Climbers ascend toward the Barafu camp in preparation for the summit push, gaining altitude and consolidating acclimatisation.

Ascend from Barafu Camp (4640m) to UHURU PEAK (5895m) for the summit and then descend to Millennium Camp (3790m). This is the main summit day and includes the ascent to Kilimanjaro summit followed by a descent to lower altitude for rest and recovery.

Trek from Millennium Camp (3790m) to Mweka Gate (1630m) and exit the mountain via the Mweka Gate. This day completes the descent off the mountain and concludes the Machame route itinerary.
