The Nag Tibba Trek, also known as the Serpent’s Peak, is one of the most popular weekend treks near Delhi and an excellent choice for beginners and first-time trekkers. Located in the Garhwal Himalayas of Uttarakhand, Nag Tibba stands at an altitude of approximately 3,022 meters, offering stunning panoramic views of snow-capped Himalayan peaks.

The trek usually starts from Pantwari village, about 90 km from Dehradun, and can be completed in 2 days, making it ideal for a short mountain escape. The trail passes through dense oak and rhododendron forests, open meadows, and scenic ridgelines, providing a refreshing mix of landscapes. During winter, the route is often covered in snow, adding to its charm and adventure.
At the summit, trekkers are rewarded with spectacular views of major peaks such as Swargarohini, Bandarpoonch, Gangotri, Kedarnath, and Changabang on clear days. The summit is marked by a small Nag Devta temple, which holds cultural significance for local villagers.

Day wise Itinerary

Day 1

Drive From Dehradun To Pantwari Village (3 Hours).

After arrival, begin the ascent trek to the Nag Tibba Base Camp (around 4-5 hours). The trail is well-defined, winding through terraced fields and dense Rhododendron forests. Reach the scenic campsite in the afternoon, offering breathtaking views of the Kedarkantha, Chanabang, and other Himalayan ranges. Enjoy camping under the stars.

Day 2

Start The Trek Early To Nag Tibba Summit (3022m).

The final ascent is short but steep, leading to the Serpent's Peak, home to a small Nag Devta Temple. The summit offers unobstructed, panoramic views of the Bandarpoonch, Gangotri group, and Kedarnath peaks. After celebrating and spending time at the top, descend directly to Pantwari village, and drive back to Dehradun, concluding the trek.
