Lake Taupo is roughly the size of Singapore and a popular holiday spot for New Zealanders. Continue over rugged mountain ranges and well cultivated farmland to arrive on the east coast and the 'Art Deco' city of Napier. The rest of the day at leisure to explore this beautiful city.

The day is at leisure to explore Napier. You can opt to take an Art Deco walking tour or enjoy a vintage car sightseeing tour of the city. This afternoon enjoy a wine tour that visits and includes tastings of 3 local wineries.

Today travel through the Manawatu Gorge to Palmerston North. Enjoy a spectacular view while travelling down the Kapiti Coast formerly known as "The Golden Coast" line for almost 140kms to arrive in the capital city of Wellington. The rest of the day is at leisure for independent activites.
