North East Wonders Tour

Upon arrival at Guwahati airport, transfer to Nameri National Park.

Covering an area of 200 sq km Nameri National Park, located at the foothills of the Eastern Himalayas, is the best place to see the very rare and elusive White - winged Wood Duck. The sparkling river Jia Bhoroli, which is ideal for rafting and angling, flows down by the National Park adding a unique charm to it. The habitat consists of tropical evergreen, semi evergreen, moist deciduous forests with cane and bamboo brakes and narrow strips of open grassland along rivers. Nameri along with adjacent Pakke and neighbouring Eaglenest Wild Life Sanctuaries of Western Arunachal protect about 1300 sq.km of great bio - diversity.
The park abounds in tiger, elephant, leopard, clouded leopard, Indian Bison, pangolin, Indian Wild Dog, civet cat, capped langur, jackal, sambar, barking deer etc.
Overnight at Eco Camp, a camp resort.

Early morning enjoy a wildlife trek. Later we gear up for an inflatable rubber dinghy raft ride on the sparkling river Jia Bhoroli which forms the western boundary to Nameri. Later after lunch transfer to Dirang.

Transfer to Tawang. On the way visit Sela Pass (13,700 ft).

Full day at Tawang having sightseeing in & around Tawang including Tsongeswar lake, PTSO Lake, Tawang Monastery etc.

Transfer to Bomdila. En route visit the magnificent Nuranang Falls near Jang. Overnight at hotel Tsepal Yangjom /Siphiyangphong.

Transfer to Kaziranga National Park. Upon arrival check in at hotel & have lunch. Later we go out for a jeep safari in the western range of the park.
The Project Tiger Kaziranga National Park is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and the home to the endangered one horned rhinoceros (2048 rhinos as per 2009 census). Besides, the park has several species of mammals and birds. The park has 70% of the world population of the Asiatic Water Buffalos and the Eastern Swamp Deer. The Park has the highest density of the endangered Royal Bengal Tigers in India with a number of 32 tigers per 100 sq.km against 20 in Corbet NP as per a census report in April, 2010. Amongst birds, the park has 25 globally threatened bird species.

Early morning elephant safari in the central range for 01 hr followed by a jeep safari in the Eastern range of the park. Later back for lunch. Afterwards, jeep safari in the Central range of the park.

Transfer to Shillong. Overnight at hotel.

After breakfast transfer to Mawlynnong village, reputed as the cleanest village in Asia. On the way visit Elephant falls on the outskirt of Shillong.
Upon arrival at Mawlynnong village check in at the village lodge & have lunch. Later we visit the living root bridge, a biological wonder of a species of the Indian rubber tree over a fast flowing stream.

Early morning climb the Sky View Point, a bamboo - cane tree top machan which itself is a marvel. From the machan you can have a clear view of Bangladesh, some 3 km away.
Later transfer to Cherrapunji, the wettest place on earth. Cherrapunji posseses some exotic waterfalls & impressive limestone caves apart from the famous double decker root bridge & the magnificent landscape.
At Cherrapunji we visit Nohkalikai falls, Mawsmai falls, Mawsmai cave, Eco Park, Thangkharang Park etc.
Overnight at Cherrapunji Resort/ Saimika Resort.

Early morning enjoy a trek to the double decker living root bridge (5 hr total). Later after lunch transfer to Guwahati. Overnight at hotel.

Early morning visit the famed Shakti temple of Ma Kamakhya atop Nilachal hills. Later transfer to Guwahati airport.
