Arrive Guwahati airport and transfer to hotel / resort at Pobitora (80 km / 1.5 hrs). Overnight at Pobitora.

. Pobitora Wildlife sanctuary is a wildlife reserve within 38.8 sq.km and consists of flat plains and a hillock. The Pobitora Rhino breeding programme has been so successful that it has the highest concentration of one horned rhinos. Over 200 migratory birds are found here along with other animals like Asiatic Buffalo, Leopard, Wild bear, civet cat and various reptiles. Early morning enjoy an Elephant ride. Return for breakfast to resort. After breakfast take a Jeep Safari to the Wild Life Sanctuary. Later visit the museum and rock inscriptions. If you wish to be adventurous, explore the local villages including some soft trekking & boat ride. Trek to the Sonoka Village walking amidst amazing views of the paddy fields on one side, the Burha Mayong rock hill on the other and the Brahmaputra flowing along. Upon reaching the remote Sonoka Village, proceed for a soft trek in the Village and visit its revered temple at the river bank. The trek will also give opportunity to spot birds like Black kite, Palla’s Fishing Eagle, Pied Harring, common Kingfisher, Palm Swift, little Egret, Grey Heron, Purple Heron, Indian Roller, Black Drongo, Hornbill etc. On your return, board a local made country boat. Your boatman will take you through the Brahmaputra River as you acquaint yourself with the exclusive Assamese countryside marked by splendid natural beauty. Also look out for the ‘Xihu’, the endangered River Dolphin, as they may dive out of the river for brisk seconds, as if playing along your route! Overnight in Pobitora.
