Sar Pass Trek

Kasol is a hamlet in the Kullu district of the Indian state of Himachal Pradesh. It is situated in Parvati Valley, on the banks of the Parvati River, Between Bhuntar and Manikaran, it is located 30 km from Bhuntar and 36 km from Kullu town, the district headquarters, 3.5 km from Manikaran.

After early breakfast, we will resume our trek to Nagaru. The trail to Nagaru will be mostly steep which climbs through pastoral forests to snow covered meadows, which makes it little difficult and time consuming. As you climb higher the air becomes thinner and you might face little altitude sickness such as headache, dizziness. Do follow the instructions of your trek leader or guide, keep drinking enough water to avoid AMS.

Today is the most important and longest trekking days in this Sar Pass Trek. After early morning breakfast we will start our trek which is steep and covered with snow. After climbing the Nagaru ridge, the trail is moderate. Climbing higher to the pass offers majestic views of the stunning meadows and towering peaks of Parvati valley. Reaching at the top of the Sar pass gives a feeling of satisfaction by looking at the mighty Himalayan snow capped peaks green meadows and the trail below. One can spend some time at the Sar pass having his packed lunch and taking pics.

The trail from Bishkeri to Barshaini is mixed with downhill to moderate. On this route one has to be careful walking each step on the slope. Again walking slow and steady will help one to approach the roadhead easily. Many little streams will pass by the trail. After few hours of mesmerizing forest trek you will reach at Pulga village. From there moderate walk to Tulga village. Then cross the Parvati river and climb for a while to reach Barshaini. From Barshaini you can take bus or taxi to reach Manikaran/Kasol.
