Known as the "Wreckreational Dive Capitol of the World," Miami is home to over 75 wrecks that provide incredible opportunities for scuba divers. Among the sunken treasures are freighters, barges, yachts, tugs, a water tower, oil platforms, army tanks, and even a 727.
Keep an eye out for such interesting aquatic life as eels, grouper, snapper, stingrays, nurse sharks (harmless), tarpon, and a wide variety of tropical fish.
Water temperatures range from 70 to 86 degrees Fahrenheit and visibility ranges from 30 to 100 feet.
This well-known dive and surf shop is in the heart of South Beach--Miami's hip, art deco neighborhood. The shop is surrounded by upscale clothing stores and great bars and restaurants. If you have time before or after your excursion, check out the neighborhood. It's very interesting.
