From Haridwar or Rishikesh, you will proceed to Guptkashi, which is a town situated in the Garhwal region of Uttarakhand. It is a common stopover point for pilgrims on their way to Kedarnath.
The Kedarnath Temple is the main attraction of this yatra. It is situated at an altitude of 3,583 meters (11,755 feet) above sea level. The temple is known for its unique architecture and is believed to have been built by Adi Shankaracharya in the 8th century. The best time to embark on the Kedarnath Yatra is during the summer months from late April or early May to November when the weather is relatively pleasant and the temple is accessible.

Early morning, start your journey to Gaurikund, which is the base point for the Kedarnath trek. It’s approximately a 1-2 hour drive.From Gaurikund, you can choose to trek to Kedarnath (approximately 14 kilometers) or take a helicopter ride if available.After reaching Kedarnath, visit the Kedarnath Temple, one of the holiest shrines of Lord Shiva.After darshan (worship), you can explore the surrounding natural beauty.Overnight stay in Kedarnath.

After morning rituals and breakfast, you can start your descent back to Gaurikund.From Gaurikund, drive back to Guptkashi.Rest and relax upon reaching Guptkashi. Overnight stay in Guptkashi.

Leave Guptkashi after breakfast and drive to Rishikesh, which is about an 8-9 hour journey.Upon reaching Rishikesh, check-in at your hotel or accommodation.You can explore the beautiful town, visit the Ganga ghats, and attend the evening Ganga Aarti at Parmarth Niketan or Triveni Ghat.Overnight stay in Rishikesh.
