Package Overview

Our 17-day tour combining “Wild West of Zambia” and South Luangwa was a stunning experience, and I just can highly recommend this tour and tour operator. We had the pleasure to be guided and driven by the owner of ‘Adventure Purists’ himself, Jo Stallmann, supported by a trained cook (Emmanuel) and camp helper. Everything was very well organized, all logistics were taken care of (transportation, accommodation, food) and the... Day wise Itinerary

  • Day 1 : Lilongwe

Upon arrival transfer to a small lodge on the outskirts of the city, and final preparations for the safari. Accommodation in chalets outside Lilongwe.

  • Day 2 : Luangwa River (South Luangwa Park)

South Luangwa NP is known for its abundance of African wildlife: Thorneycroft’s giraffe, Cookson’s Gnu, Crawshay’s Zebra, leopards, lions and big herds of buffalo and elephant. Game drives along the Luangwa River often produce spectacular sightings. Hippo families occur in high numbers in the river, unequalled in Africa.

During the dry season (July to October), many side channels of the river dry up, leaving the fish trapped. This attracts many different species of predators, such as the African fish eagle, jackal, and hyena, to mention but a few. The colourful Carmine bee-eaters are often seen perching in front of their nests in the river banks.
Camping in Wildlife Camp or Marula Game Lodge. (4x FB)
