Morning:
Arrival in Phuentsholing: Upon arrival at Phuentsholing, a bustling border town located at the southern gateway to Bhutan, you will be greeted by your guide. Phuentsholing is situated at the foothills of the Himalayas and is an entry point for travelers coming from India.
Immigration and Customs Formalities: You will complete the necessary immigration and customs procedures. Ensure you have all the required documents for entry into Bhutan.
Afternoon:
Drive from Phuentsholing to Thimphu: After completing the formalities, you'll start your scenic drive to Thimphu, Bhutan's capital. The distance between Phuentsholing and Thimphu is approximately 145 kilometers and takes around 5-6 hours. The journey will take you through beautiful landscapes, winding roads, and traditional villages. You’ll pass through lush forests, terraced fields, and picturesque valleys.
Arrival in Thimphu: Check-in to your hotel upon arrival. Enjoy the evening at leisure, taking in the beauty of the capital city.
Evening:
Overnight in Thimphu: After a long day of travel, rest and enjoy a comfortable overnight stay in Thimphu.
Morning: Sightseeing in Thimphu
Tashichho Dzong
Start your day with a visit to the Tashichho Dzong, the seat of the king’s office and the central monastic body. It’s a beautiful fortress and monastery with great views of Thimphu and a peaceful atmosphere.
Buddha Dordenma
After the dzong, head to Buddha Dordenma, a towering statue of Buddha. The site offers a panoramic view of Thimphu valley, and you can also visit the meditation hall beneath the statue.
National Memorial Chorten
A visit to the National Memorial Chorten will give you a chance to experience the Bhutanese reverence for spirituality. Locals often circumambulate the stupa, and it’s a great place for peaceful reflection.
Lunch in Thimphu

Afternoon: Travel to Paro

Rinpung Dzong

Kyichu Lhakhang

Tiger's Nest Monastery, also known as Paro Taktsang, is one of Bhutan's most iconic Buddhist sites. Perched 900 meters above the Paro Valley on a cliff, this monastery is an architectural wonder. While Bhutan boasts many monasteries, what sets Paro Taktsang apart is its profound religious and historical importance.
Early Morning:
7:00 AM: Enjoy a hearty breakfast at your accommodation.
8:00 AM: Begin the hike to Tiger’s Nest Monastery (Taktshang). The hike takes around 4–5 hours depending on pace. You can take the horse ride halfway up for extra comfort.
Hike Highlights:
Start the climb from the base, passing through pine forests.
Stop at the viewpoint for an incredible panoramic view of the monastery perched on a cliff.
Continue up to the monastery, exploring the sacred sites and learning about the history and significance of this iconic Buddhist site.
Lunch at the cafeteria near the monastery for a scenic break.
Afternoon (Post-hike):
Return to Paro after completing the hike.

9:30 AM – 10:00 AM: Start the Journey to Phuentsholing
Depart from Paro to Phuentsholing, a border town at the junction of Bhutan and India. The drive is approximately 5–6 hours depending on road conditions, with stunning views along the way.
Drive Highlights:
The drive passes through beautiful valleys, rivers, and the Chhukha district, where you’ll see a variety of landscapes as you descend into the lower altitudes.
Midday:
12:30 PM – 1:30 PM: Lunch Stop
Stop for lunch at a local restaurant on the way. You can try local Bhutanese dishes or more familiar options depending on preference. If you’re in the Chhukha area, there are several good places to try.
1:30 PM – 2:30 PM: Continue the Journey to Phuentsholing
after lunch, resume your drive to Phuentsholing. Enjoy the scenic views as you pass through the towns and small villages along the way.

3:00 PM – 4:00 PM: Arrival in Phuentsholing Arrive in Phuentsholing, a bustling border town, and check in at your hotel.
