Spiti Expedition Tour

On this day we reach Shimla by day end. Night Stay at a hotel/resort in Mashobra/Kufri which is optional. Can be done by us or personally.

Start the journey towards Sangla on NH-5 which will take us through Kufri, Narkanda, Rampur, Jeori, Tapri. You will get to see the fabled cliff-hangers of Kinnaur enroute. .We then drive to Powari, from where we take a diversion towards Reckong Peo (The HQ of Kinnaur Valley) and then we head to Kalpa . Kalpa is a small town which offers magnificent view of the Great Himalayan Range and revered Kinner Kailash. Visit the Kalpa monastery and visit the Kalpa town. Finally, we end the day soaking in the beauty of Great Himalayan Range witnessing the Kinner Kailash. Night stay at Kalpa.

After breakfast, we start our drive towards Tabo.We first drive the same way till Powari and then turn towardsSpiti. On the way, we witness confluence of Sutlej and Spiti rivers at Khab and then head to Nako which is the main village in Hangrang Valley of Kinnaur and offers a Panoramic View ofTransHimalayas.Explore Nako village and the beautiful lake there. Continue the scenic drive through Ka-Zigs to Sumdo where we enter Spiti Valley.We will also try to visit Geyu to witness Geyu mummy if the road conditions permit. Finally end the day at a homestay in Tabo.

After the breakfast, visit the ancient Tabo Monastery. Then we get on the main track towards Kaza. From Atargoo again take a diversion towards scenic Pin Valley. We will try to explore as much as possible depending upon Snow on the route/weather. Then come back the same route till Atargoo and then head towards Kaza. Night stay at Kaza. If we aren’t able to access Pin Valley, we will try to go ahead of Kaza towards Losar which is a quaint village and this happens to be the last village of Spiti Valley and post this, Lahaul valley starts. Night stay at Kaza.

After the breakfast at our hotel at Kaza we will make an attempt to visit some of the highest inhabited villages in the world.. First, we will go to Hikkim which Is known for the highest post office in the world. Then, we will go to Komik which is known to be the highest inhabited village in the world. Finally we reach Langza which is know for Open Air Buddha statue. Visit to all these 3 places will depend on Road Conditions and snow.
Then we come back to Kaza and take another circuit for Divine Key Monastery and then visit the fabled Chicham bridge. Come to Kaza for Night Stay. We can spend the evening taking a stroll in a classic Himalayan market at Kaza.

After breakfast, we head the same way back towards Kalpa and from Atargoo we take a diversion and try to visit the Medeival Dhankar monastery. Finally we meet the main highway at Rangrik and head towards Kalpa. It is time to say goodbye to the barren mountains of Spiti and head back to the lush greens of Kinnaur Valley. We drive the same way till Powari,

After the breakfast, leave the hotel and explorethe Suicide point and Roghi Village for Narkanda/ Mashobra/ Shimla – taking the same way where we started on Day2. We may stop at places to capture the views we might have missed earlier. We may also take a detour towards Sarahan to visit the famous Bhimakali Temple.After reaching our destination for the day, We bid good bye to our friends who have opted for stays at Shimla.

After breakfast, it’s time to say goodbye to the beautiful views and mountains. From here you will start your journey back towards Chandigarh and then to your respective homes.Wish you a safe and pleasant journey back home.
