The international Maralal Camel Derby 2016 Tour

Upon arrival at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport in the morning, depart for Maralal Camp where you will be accommodated. From Nairobi it is about 345km by road (chattered flights are also available prior to an earlier booking),the road safari will take you through some of the remote and arid areas in Kenya on a route famed for its spectacular views of The Great Rift Valley at the view points along it.

- There will be a stopover Picnic Lunch at the Thompson Falls in Nyahururu for a teasing view as water plummets 72m down a ravine on a bed of giant rocks and a resulting mist bathing the forest below. Then proceed to Maralal and arrive at Maralal safari lodge in time for dinner and check into our rooms.

After breakfast, drive to Maralal town for the flagging off, and subject to the program (to be released by the organizers) engage in the day’s activities-camel racing ,cycling, and cultural festivities. Later in the evening drive back to the lodge for dinner and refreshments

Enjoy another fascinating day at the event, which will be at Yare Camel camp and also take a stroll in the town to sample the day to day life of a nomadic town and try out the local delicacies such as nyama choma and traditional jewelry made of bids.

There could be an option of an afternoon walk in the Maralal National Sanctuary surrounding the town, which is a home to a variety of wildlife and exotic bird species. Head back to the Camp for dinner.

After breakfast in the morning we depart for Nairobi with en route game drive. We will hope to arrive in Nairobi (late in the evening) and drop you at the airport for your flight home.
