Tirthan Valley: -

Trekking in GHNP - Trekking can be organised from Great Himalayan National Park from its gate near Gushaini village in Tirthan Valley. Great Himalayan National Park is an evergreen himalayan forest full of tall trees, valleys, river streams and well laid out trails. Based on level of difficulty sought, half-day, full - day, overnight camping, multi-day camping can be set up inside the park.

Destination Overview

Chandigarh - Chandigarh is a major business centre and hub for Software, IT and ITES companies. Chandigarh is a tourist destination being a transit point for guests on Delhi - Manali route and an access point to visit neighboring hills of Himachal Pradesh and hill station of Shimla.

Mandi - Mandi is a transit stay option. It is the gateway to the Kullu Valley and a point where road from Palampur / Dharamsala area and Chandigarh / Bilaspur area meet with the Road to Kullu Valley.

Tirthan Valley - Tirthan Valley (4500 ft asl) lies on the banks of River Tirthan. The area is known for the Trout fishing and access to Great Himalayan National Park (GHNP).

Day wise Itinerary

Day 1

Arrival at Chandigarh. Transit stay at Mandi

Arrive Chandigarh and proceed to Mandi (185 kms - 4.5 hrs), a stopover on the Chandigarh - Manali route.
Day 2

Mandi - Tirthan Valley

Proceed to Tirthan Valley (3500+ ft asl - 70 kms - 2 hours). Guests typically like to enjoy riverside character of the area. Post lunch guests can explore of the many water based adventure activities such as River crossing, Kayaking etc. OR explore area on a bicycle and do a bit of mountain biking.

Day 3

Trekking into GHNP

Spend a day exploring Great Himalayan National Park (GHNP). Treks of half / full day can be organised with varied levels of difficulty. Overnight camping can be organised as well.

Day 4

Day to yourself

Guests on overnight camping would return by Lunch time and enjoy riverside. Other guests have a wide range of options based on what is available (As per season) and area of interests. Typical options comprise Photography, Bird Watching, Yoga and Meditation. Activity oriented options comprise Horse Riding, Maachan Building, Rope Bridge with bamboos, Learning Pottery and Village visits.

Early Departure to Chandigarh

Early Departure for Chandigarh (260 kms - 6 hours). Depart for onward journey.
