Real travellers are always in search of real life experiences. While in Spiti valley, enjoying a safari on a yak brings you closer to local culture and lifestyle that locals lead in Spitivalley. Yak happens to be the largest animal in the cold deserts of trans-Himalayan
Spitivalley. It can easily be distinguished by its long black hair, which is tinged with gray at the muzzle. Spending its summers at a height above 5000 meters, in winter it moves in herds to the lakes, marshes and lower valleys. It is this highly insulated shaggy coat which helps Yak to survive in such extreme cold.

Yak Safari in Spiti valley is a safari with a difference. It is an experience unique to Spiti valley. Exploring lakes, glacial valleys, gurgling streams, chiselled snow peaks, meadows, nomads land, gorges, waterfall on a yak can be a lifetime experience. Day wise Itinerary

Day 1

Manali to Mane Yogma village

After early morning breakfast, we will head out to Spitivalley. After reaching Manali, you will be provided with the vehicle, and the driver will drive you down for the tour you have chosen. As you will be driven across the region, you can soak in the atmosphere and understand the landscape. You get to see the Kunzum-Pass. There are several interesting sights of various vegetation that grows in the region. You will reach Mane yogma at evening and accommodation will be provide at Mane.

Day 2

Acclamatization and rest.

Meet and greet with the tour representative at mane yogma, meet the yak riding team.

Learn about yak riding and the etiquettes to follow while interacting with yaks, tour around Mane village and acclamatization walk to Lhar top(3900m) at evening and over night stay at homestay.

Day 3

Mane yogma to Dogsa via Yang-tso lake.

Start the yak riding expedition early in the morning

Enjoy riding with personal guide and experience the panoramic Himalayan views

Reach Yang-tso Or Sooona Lake and enjoy lunch and scenic beauty, move to Dogsa campsite. Dogsa is a seasonal shelter and pastureland of nomads of Mane yogma. Which runs from 18th of June to 18th of August of every year. Intreact with nomadic people of Spiti.
Watch and learn their lifestyle and process of making butter, curds, cheese, sweet cheese, dry cheese and more.
Overnight stay in a tented camp at Dogsa.

Day 4

Dogsa to Chudolsa waterfall and back to Dogsa.

Resume the yak safari towards Chudolsa waterfall, which is about 2300m from Dogsa campsite.
Experience yak riding on sands, mountain trails and cross water streams that are not accessible by vehicles
Enjoy the stunning views of Himalaya and experience nomadic life.
Overnight stay in a tented camp at Dogsa, enjoy panoramic views and star gazing at night.

Day 5

Dogsa to Mane Yogma village.

After breakfast we will start moving back to Mane yogma village. It's about three hours of ride. While moving back we will go through Ongdang gorge. Ongdang is a gorge formed by the continues ﬂow of water over rock, it's a very deep gorge and amazing work of nature to admire. Spend a night at homestay and preparation for next day.

Day 6

Return from Maneyogma to Manali.

Return to Manali from Mane village in a private vehicle.

Check-out from the homestay and depart for Manali after early breakfast.

Payment Terms & Methods :

* 20% Advance Percentage of total booking amount

Cancellation & Refund Policy :

The course charges refund policy of MIM is as under:

25% deduction in case of cancellation with prior notice of more than 30 days.

50% deduction in case of cancellation with prior notice between 30 to 15 days.

100% forfeiture in case of cancellation with prior notice of less than 15 days.

In case of cancellation of seat by the Institute due to some unavoidable circumstances, 100% course fee will be refunded to the candidate.
