Highlights include large elephant herds and giant baobab trees in Tarangire and diverse wildlife viewing opportunities in Ngorongoro Crater. Expect sightings of elephants, giraffes, zebras, wildebeest, eland, buffalo, warthogs, baboons, impalas, rare species such as Gerenuk and Great Kudu, Oryx, many species of birds and predators including lions, leopards, cheetahs, hyenas and jackals. More than 400 bird species have been recorded in these areas.
Arrival Day in Arusha. On arrival you will be met and transferred to your accommodation in Arusha. This day is reserved for arrival formalities, airport pickup and settling into your lodge in Arusha in preparation for the safari beginning the next day. Overnight accommodation in Arusha is included.
Travel from Arusha to Tarangire National Park for a full day of game viewing. Tarangire is known for its large elephant herds and giant baobab trees. Expect to encounter large numbers of elephants possibly up to the recorded populations in the park, as well as giraffes, zebras, wildebeest, eland, buffalo, warthogs, baboons, impalas, and a wide variety of birds. Game drives and wildlife photography opportunities are the focus, with overnight stay in a safari lodge or tented camp.
From Tarangire proceed to Ngorongoro Crater for further game viewing in one of Tanzanias most famous conservation areas, then return to Arusha. Ngorongoro Crater offers concentrated wildlife viewing opportunities including predators and a range of herbivores in a unique caldera environment. The day includes game viewing in the crater and travel back to Arusha where the safari concludes.
