3-Day Dar Es Salaam to Selous for Wildlife Adventure

Day 1:
Dar es Salaam to Nyerere National Park & Boat Safari
Your adventure begins with a pick-up from Dar es Salaam by our professional driver, who will transfer you to Nyerere National Park. Upon arrival, you’ll check in at your lodge or camp for some relaxation before heading out for a guided village walking tour. Here, you’ll observe the daily activities of the villagers and gain insight into their rich cultural heritage. After the village tour, enjoy a hearty lunch at Africa Safari Selous.

In the afternoon, around 16:00, embark on an exciting boat safari along the Rufiji River, Tanzania's longest river, stretching over 600 kilometers. As you cruise along, you’ll have the chance to spot hippos, crocodiles, a variety of bird species, and scenic riverbanks, all set against the backdrop of a stunning sunset. This peaceful yet thrilling boat ride will give you a true sense of the wild beauty of the region.

Day 2:
Full-day Game Drive in Nyerere National Park (Selous Game Reserve)
After an early breakfast, your full-day game drive begins at 07:30 as our professional driver and guide pick you up from your lodge or camp. You'll spend the day exploring the vast Nyerere National Park, formerly known as the Selous Game Reserve. As you traverse this stunning wilderness, you'll have the chance to encounter a diverse range of wildlife, including elephants, zebras, giraffes, and antelopes, along with numerous bird species. The park’s varied landscapes—ranging from wetlands and dry grasslands to light acacia forests and elevated areas offering panoramic views of distant mountains—add to the beauty of the experience.

Around midday, you'll stop to enjoy a packed lunch, allowing you time to relax before continuing your game drive. As the day winds down, you'll head back to your accommodation for a well-deserved dinner and rest, ready for your final day in the park.

Day 3:
Walking Safari & Return to Dar es Salaam
On your final day, you’ll embark on an exhilarating walking safari in the forest before breakfast, guided by an armed ranger for your safety. This immersive experience lasts approximately one and a half hours, allowing you to connect with nature and observe the wilderness up close. After your walk, you’ll return to the camp for a hearty breakfast.

Following breakfast, it’s time to prepare for your journey back to Dar es Salaam. Our driver will be waiting to take you back, ensuring a comfortable transfer to your hotel. This concludes your unforgettable wildlife adventure in Nyerere National Park.
