Package Overview

The 3 Days Samburu Game Reserve will take you through the Samburu National Reserve on the banks of the Ewaso Ng’iro river in Kenya. On the other side of the river is the Buffalo Springs National Reserve. The park is 165 km² in size and is situated 350 kilometers from Nairobi. It ranges in altitude from 800 to 1230m above sea level. Geographically, it is located in Samburu County.

In the middle of the reserve, the Ewaso Ng’iro flows through doum palm groves and thick riverine forests. It provides water, without which the game in this arid region could not survive.

Day wise Itinerary

• Day 1 : Nairobi - Samburu Game Reserve

  Pick up from your hotel at 0730hrs. Safari Briefing and passing the majestic Mt. Kenya en route to the open savannah of Samburu Game Reserve, arrives in Samburu in late afternoon. You will have a lunch en-route. After check in in your camp/lodge, leave to the camp for evening game drive. Dinner and overnight stay at Samburu Campsite.
• Day 2 : Samburu Game reserve

  Full day in Samburu with picnic lunch. Optional visit to Samburu villages and Samburu Game Reserve has Several species are considered unique to the region, including its ts unique dry-country animal life: All three big cats, lion, cheetah and leopard, can be found here, as well as elephants, buffalo and hippos and Ewaso Ngiro river contains large numbers of Nile crocodile.
  Other mammals frequently seen in the park include gerenuk, warthogs, Grant’s gazelle, Kirk’s dik-dik, impala, waterbuck, Grevy’s zebra, Beisa oryx and reticulated giraffe. 350 species of bird have been recorded. These include Somali ostrich, grey-headed kingfisher, sunbirds, bee-eaters, marabou stork, tawny eagle, bateleur, vulturine guineafowl,yellow throated spurfowl, lilac-breasted roller, palm nut vulture, red-billed hornbill, secretary bird, Verreaux’s eagle, superb starling, yellow-billed hornbill and vultures.
• Day 3 : Samburu - Nairobi

  After breakfast leave Samburu to Nairobi where your tour ends arriving in late afternoon.
