Day wise Itinerary

Day 1

Day 1: Dar Es Salaam – Kigoma – Gombe Stream National Park

Early in the morning, you are transferred from your hotel in Dar es Salaam to Julius Nyerere International Airport for a scheduled domestic flight to Kigoma. Upon arrival, you are met by your guide and transferred to the lakeshore for a scenic boat journey across Lake Tanganyika to Gombe Stream National Park. On arrival, check in at your lodge and enjoy lunch. The afternoon is at leisure, with time to relax by the lakeshore or enjoy a gentle guided walk around the forest edge. Dinner and overnight at the Mbali Mbali Gombe lodge.

Day 2

Day 2: Gombe Stream National Park – Chimpanzee Trekking

After an early breakfast, set out with a park ranger for an in-depth chimpanzee trekking experience in the forested valleys of Gombe. The trek may take several hours, depending on the location of the chimpanzee families, and once found, you will spend time observing their fascinating social behavior in their natural habitat. Return to the lodge for lunch and some rest. In the afternoon, enjoy a second forest walk or visit nearby waterfalls, where you may encounter other primates such as red colobus and vervet monkeys, as well as rich birdlife. Dinner and overnight at the Mbali Mbali Gombe lodge.

Day 3

Day 3: Gombe Stream National Park – Further Exploration

This morning offers another opportunity for chimpanzee trekking, exploring a different part of the park to increase your chances of sightings and gain a deeper understanding of the ecosystem. After returning to the lodge for lunch, the afternoon is more relaxed, with the option of a scenic boat excursion along the shoreline of Lake Tanganyika or time to swim and unwind at the lodge. As the sun sets over the lake, enjoy the peaceful atmosphere before dinner and an overnight stay at the Mbali Mbali Gombe lodge.

Day 4

Day 4: Gombe Stream National Park – Kigoma – Dar Es Salaam

After breakfast, depart Gombe by boat back to Kigoma Town, enjoying final views of the dramatic lakeshore and forested hills. On arrival, you are transferred to Kigoma Airport for your scheduled flight back to Dar es Salaam. Arrival in Dar es Salaam marks the end of your in-depth Gombe Chimpanzee Experience.

Please Note:
• Taxes, park fees, concession fees, VAT exemptions, and other taxes are based in Oﬃcial Government legislation at booking time. Should any of these be changed by the Government of Tanzania, Go Extra Mile Safaris of Tanzania reserves the right to amend the rates accordingly.
• If accommodation is full at the time of the booking, comparable alternatives will be suggested (according to availability)
• Transport on safari is provided in 4-wheel-drive vehicles. City and other similar transfers may be provided in minivans. The company reserves the right to employ the services of subcontractors where necessary.
Booking Terms & Conditions:
• To confirm our clients' reservation, Go Extra Mile Safaris requires a 25% deposit payment at the time of making your booking. Failure to do so will result in your reservation automatically being canceled.
• The balance of payment is due 8 weeks (60 days) before the commencement date of your itinerary. Bookings made within 8 weeks (60 days) before departure are subject to full prepayment at the time of confirming the reservation.
• Please note that should you have been quoted in foreign currency and wish to settle payment using a credit card, your quotation will be converted to Tanzanian Shillings before the transaction is processed due to foreign exchange regulations by the Bank of Tanzania. The rate of exchange on the day that the transaction is processed will be used to determine the equivalent Shilling amount, with any resulting foreign exchange differences or bank charges being for the client's account. The Bank of Tanzania prohibits Tanzanian companies from taking foreign credit card payments and keeping the payment in foreign currency. The payment has to be converted to Tanzanian shillings before it is credited to the recipient. Clients are welcome to settle payment employing a bank transfer - in this instance, the amount will be converted by your bankers on presentation of our invoice.
• It is the client's responsibility to inform and instruct their bankers that the net invoice amount must equal the funds clearing into the Go Extra Mile Safaris bank account and that ALL bank charges are to be borne by the client's account.

• Penalty of 10% if you cancel more than 60 days before your tour
• 20% penalty if you cancel between 30 and 60 days earlier
• a penalty of 50% if you cancel with 15 to 30 days' notice
• a 75% penalty if you cancel with 7 to 14 days' notice,
• a penalty of 100% if you cancel with less than a week's notice
• Oﬃcial Govt Fees paid remain Non-refundable
