5-DAY NORTHERN TANZANIA MID-RANGE SAFARI

Arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport where you will be welcomed by your safari guide and transferred to Arusha, the gateway to the Northern Safari Circuit situated at the foot of Mount Meru. Depending on arrival time you may relax at your lodge among coffee plantations and picturesque landscapes. The evening includes dinner and an overnight stay at Under The Shade Safari Lodge in preparation for the safari beginning the next morning.

After breakfast depart Arusha for Tarangire National Park, a nearly 3,000 square kilometer reserve renowned for giant baobab trees, vast savannah and large elephant populations. The Tarangire River attracts abundant wildlife year round and the park is home to lions, giraffes, zebras, wildebeest, buffaloes, numerous antelope species and over 500 bird species. The day features an extensive game drive with opportunities for wildlife and bird viewing, a picnic lunch in the park and later transfer to Karatu for dinner and overnight at Farm of Dreams Lodge.

Early breakfast then depart for the Ngorongoro Conservation Area and descend into the magnificent Ngorongoro Crater, a UNESCO World Heritage Site with one of Africas highest concentrations of wildlife including lions, elephants, buffaloes, hippos, hyenas and the endangered black rhinoceros. Enjoy a game drive and picnic lunch on the crater floor before driving through scenic highlands and vast plains toward Serengeti National Park, famed for endless grasslands, the Great Migration and abundant predators and plains game. Arrive at Moyo Tented Camp in the evening for dinner and overnight.

Begin with a morning game drive in Serengeti National Park, exploring its endless plains and diverse wildlife including lions, leopards, cheetahs, hyenas, elephants and abundant plains game. After exceptional wildlife viewing and lunch in the park, depart Serengeti and travel through the Ngorongoro Highlands back to Karatu, arriving in the evening for dinner and overnight at Farm of Dreams Lodge.

After breakfast at the lodge in Karatu enjoy a relaxed morning before transfer to Arusha or Kilimanjaro International Airport for your departure flight. Depending on flight schedule guests may unwind at the lodge or take part in optional local activities such as visiting Mto wa Mbu village for plantation walks, local school visits and a tuk tuk or bicycle ride through the community, or a coffee tour in Karatu if offered by the lodge. Later transfer to the airport concludes the safari.
