This 6-day itinerary allows extra time for acclimatization at Horombo Hut, increasing summit success. • Day 1 : DRIVE TO KILIMANJARO MARANGU GATE, HIKE TO MANDARA HUT

  Hiking Time: 4–5 hours
  The trek begins through lush rainforest with unique flora and wildlife.

  Ascend through heath and moorland, enjoying views of Mawenzi and Kibo peaks.

  Acclimatization Hike: To Zebra Rocks (3,980 m / 13,058 ft) or Mawenzi Ridge (4,300 m / 14,107 ft)
  Distance: 5–7 km / 3–4.5 miles (round trip)
  Hiking Time: 3–4 hours
  A short acclimatization trek to Zebra Rocks and Mawenzi Ridge helps your body adjust to altitude. Return to Horombo Hut for lunch and relaxation.

  A midnight start leads you via Gilman’s Point (5,685 m / 18,652 ft) to Uhuru Peak – the Roof of Africa. After celebrations, descend back to Horombo Hut.
