The Lemosho Route is one of the most scenic and offer you more opportunity to reach the summit of Mount Kilimanjaro. Beginning on the western side of the mountain, the trail passes through lush rainforest, the Shira Plateau, alpine desert, and the icy summit zone. This 9-day itinerary (1 night in Moshi + 8 days/7 nights on the mountain) provides excellent acclimatization, increasing your chances of a successful summit at Uhuru Peak (5,895m/19,341ft) – the highest point in Africa.
Pickup from Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO) and transfer to hotel in Moshi. Meet your guide for briefing and gear check. Overnight stay in Moshi.

Drive from Moshi (~2–3 hrs) to Lemosho Gate for registration. Start trekking through the rainforest – look out for monkeys and colorful birds. Overnight at Big Tree Camp.

A steady climb out of the forest into open moorland. Camp on the wide Shira Plateau with great views.

Climb up to Lava Tower for lunch (great acclimatization stop), then descend into the Barranco Valley. Overnight at Barranco Camp.

Scramble up the famous Barranco Wall (fun and scenic), then trek on to Karanga Camp.

Hike to Barafu Camp, rest, then wake around 11:00pm for tea and snacks. Begin the midnight summit push via Stella Point. Reach Uhuru Peak at sunrise for unforgettable views. Descend to Barafu, then continue down to Mweka Camp for the night.

Final descent through lush forest to Mweka Gate. Collect your summit certificate, then drive back to Moshi for a hot shower, rest, and celebration dinner.
