Day wise Itinerary

Day 1

airport to parkside hotel

transfer to nairobi hotel [or nanyuki if the flight is in the morning] meals and overnight in the hotel

Day 2

nairobi to mount kenya national park

after breakfast drive towards mountain kenya national park with stop overs including equator and nanyuki among others.we meet our crew[ guide,cook,porters] at nanyuki and drive to sirimon park gate [2675 meters]. after lunch have acclimatization walk for 3-4 hours to old moses camp[3300 meters].this walk prepares the trekkers for the next days of trekking in high altitudes.
dinner and overnight is in the camp.

Day 3

old moses camp to shiptons camp

after breakfast hike the moorland through mackinders valley to shiptons camp[4200 meters]
hiking takes 7-8 hours for its is an easy pace,slow walk.we have packed lunch.
dinner and overnight is in the camp.
this day we have dinner early so that trekkers can have enough time to rest in readiness for the ascent to the summit the following day.

Day 4

shiptons camp, lenana peak to mintos hut

pre -dawn [03;00 am] ascend the summit peak lenana[4985 meters] ,
ascending times takes 6 hours [from and to next camp]. trekkers arrive the summit at or before sunrise .on a clear day, mt.kilimanjaro,indian ocean among others are visible .remember by this time trekkers are standing on the second highest point in africa. later descend the easten part of the mountain to mintos hut near lake michaelson, time allowing and further descend to meru mt.kenya bandas

Day 5

meru bandas to nairobi

after breakfast descend the scenic forest to connect with transfer back to nairobi,a chance of small game viewing on the way.
