5 Days Mt. Kenya Trekking

Pick clients up from the airport and transfer them to Parksde or a similar hotel in Nairobi. Meals and accommodation will be provided in the camp.

After breakfast, we will drive through the central Kenyan region, making several stops for sightseeing, including a visit to the equator. We will meet our crew—guide, cook, and porters—in Nanyuki Township, where we will pack our fresh supplies. Then, we’ll continue our journey via the Sirimon Route to the Sirimon Park Gate, which is located at an elevation of 2,675 meters above sea level.

After clearing the entrance at the park gate, we will have lunch and begin our acclimatization walk, which will last 3-4 hours and take us to Old Moses Camp at 3,300 meters. This hike is essential for preparing us for the trekking at higher altitudes in the coming days.

We will enjoy dinner and spend the night at the camp.

After breakfast, we will begin our hike through the moorland, following the Mackinder's Valley to Shipton's Camp, which is located at 4,200 meters. The hike will take approximately 7 to 8 hours. We will have a packed lunch with us as we walk as a team, with porters carrying our backpacks and a guide leading the way. Along the hike, you can enjoy the rich flora and fauna as the altitude changes.

Upon arrival at the camp, hot drinks will be served, allowing everyone to relax at the foot of the towering peaks. Dinner will be served early this evening to give the trekkers more time to unwind, especially in preparation for the summit ascent to Peak Lenana, which stands at 4,985 meters the next day.

We will start our ascent to the summit of Peak Lenana (4,985 meters) at 3:00 AM to reach the top before sunrise. After sunrise, it typically becomes cold and windy. On a clear day, we can see Mount Kilimanjaro and the Indian Ocean, among other sights. After taking some photos, we will descend back to the camp for breakfast and a rest. We will further descend to Old Moses Camp, where we will have dinner and spend the night.
