This Adventures Beyond 7 Day Tasmanian Safari is the best way to see Tasmania's East and West Coasts. Starting and finishing in Hobart, we explore the tallest trees in Australia, ride a quad bike through the sand dunes of the West Coast and swim in the prostine waters of the Bay of Fires. We search out the Tasmanian devil, we visit the World Heritage Site of Port Arthur and explore the Freycinet National Park. The tour includes everything, we visit the Tasman Peninsula, the Taranna Wildlife Park and see Wineglass Bay. We enjoy visiting the Bicheno Blowhole, Russel Falls, Lake St Clair and Coles Bay. No trip to Tasmania is complete without seeing Cradle Mountain, and we finish off with a local ale at a local brewery. Day 1 : Tall Tree Walk, Lake St Clair and Russell Falls
Starting at 7:30am we pick you up from your accommodation and start the journey to Mt Field National Park. Enjoy walking through the tallest trees in Australia on the Tall Tree walk and exploring the cascading Russel Falls. We then head to Lake St Clair, Australia's deepest lake at 167 metres, it was formed by ice glaciers and feeds the Derwent River. Take in the spectacular views of Mt Olympus before we head to Strahan and our lodge for the night, overlooking Macquarie Harbour.
Day 2 : Strahan, Henty Sand Dunes and Adventure
Day 2 we enjoy Strahan and the amazing optional activities on offer. If adrenalin is your thing then why not try out sandboarding (like surfing on sand) on the Henty Sand Dunes OR a jet boating adventure on the King River. King River is bound by spectacular mountain ranges and rainforest plant species including gian tree ferns. If a more relaxed adventure is your style you can also kayak on the Gordon River. We spend night 2 again at our lodge.
Day 3 : Cradle Mountain, Bushwalking and Wildlife Viewing!
Day 3 is your final day of adventure. We take the scenic drive to Cradle Mountain where we can experience its notoriously inclement weather. Those keen to explore can embark on a bush walk, or if you would rather take a relaxed walk you can enjoy Dove Lake. This area is home to Wombat so keep a look out. We finish the adventure in Launceston in the late afternoon after enoying an amazing Tasmanian wilderness adventure.
Day 4 : Bay of Fires, Bicheno Blowhole, Coles Bay
Starting at 7:30am from Launceston we explore Cataract Gorge before heading off on our East Coast adventure. Our first main stop is the Bay of Fires, a pristine part of Tasmania and home to some of Australia's best beaches. Although the water is cold, it is a beautiful place for a swim and the area is great for short walks. After a stop at a local winery we head to Bicheno blowhole home to Little Penguins before we arrive at our overnight accommodation at Coles bay.
Day 5 : Freycinet National Park, Wineglass Bay and Beyond
Day 5 we enjoy one of Tasmanias main highlights, the Freycinet National Park. There is beautiful rocky mountains that meet perfect white sand which is absolutely spectacular. Here we walk into Wine Glass Bay and if you are feeling energetic you can undertake a 3 hour hike to Mt Amos for amazing vews. In Freycinet you are likely to see an unusual Aussie animal, the Echidna before heading south towards Port Arthur where we spend the next 2 nights of our Tasmanian adventure.
Day 6 : Tasman Peninsula, Port Arthur and More
Day 6 is spent on the Tasman Peninsula where we enjoy a seeries of coastal walks looking out for dolphins, seals, penguins and whales from the dramatic sea cliffs. In the afternoon we step back in time as we visit the World Heritage site of Port Arthur, a penal colony site housing British convicts in the 1800's. Here we explore this historic site and at night you have the option of taking the after dark ghost tour before another enjoyable night in the Port Arthur region.
Day 7 : Taranna Wildlife Park, Hobart Brewery and the Tassie Devil!
Day 7 is your final day of adventure. We hit the road early and today we search out the Tassie Devil, a rare Australian animal only found on Tasmania that is in danger of extinction. We get up close and personal with other Australian animals like kangaroos, wallabies and more at the Taranna wildlife park before heading to Hobart to a local brewer to sample some of the best ales in the area and to toast a fun Tasmania tour.
