7 Days / 6 Nights Mt Kilimanjaro Machame Route Expedition Package

Arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport with transfer to your hotel in Arusha or Moshi. Meet the guide for a pre climb briefing covering route information, safety procedures, equipment checklist, mountain expectations and weather conditions. Evening spent at hotel with overnight in Arusha or Moshi. Meals for the day include breakfast, lunch and dinner as indicated.

After breakfast transfer from Arusha or Moshi to Machame Gate where registration procedures are completed. The climb begins through the rainforest zone, passing lush vegetation, ancient trees and tropical landscapes. Hike approximately 11 km from starting elevation of about 1,800 m to Machame Camp at 3,000 m. Estimated hiking time is 5 to 7 hours through rainforest habitat. Mountain crew prepare camp and provide dinner and overnight at Machame Camp.

Leave the rainforest and ascend into the highland moorland zone. The trail becomes steeper and offers impressive views of Mount Meru and surrounding valleys. Hike approximately 5 km from Machame Camp at 3,000 m to Shira Camp at 3,850 m. Estimated hiking time is 4 to 6 hours through moorland habitat. Meals provided and overnight at Shira Camp.

An acclimatization day following the climb high sleep low principle. Ascend toward Lava Tower at approximately 4,600 m to aid acclimatization, then descend to Barranco Camp at about 3,950 m. Total distance approximately 10 km with hiking time around 6 to 8 hours through alpine desert habitat. This day helps the body adjust to higher altitude. Meals provided and overnight at Barranco Camp.

After breakfast tackle the famous Barranco Wall, one of the most exciting sections of the route. The climb requires careful walking but is non technical. After reaching the top continue toward Karanga Valley to Karanga Camp at about 4,035 m. Distance is approximately 5 km with hiking time 4 to 5 hours. Meals provided and overnight at Karanga Camp.

Continue from Karanga Camp to Barafu Camp, the final base camp before the summit. After rest and preparation at Barafu Camp (4,673 m) begin the summit attempt around midnight. The climb proceeds in darkness using headlamps, reaching Stella Point at 5,739 m and then Uhuru Peak at 5,895 m. Celebrate at the summit with panoramic views, then begin descent. Summit ascent time approximately 6 to 8 hours and descent 5 to 7 hours. After descent continue to Mweka Camp for overnight. Meals provided.

After breakfast descend through the rainforest to Mweka Gate. Receive the summit certificate at Mweka Gate and transfer back to Moshi or Arusha. Hiking distance for descent approximately 10 km with hiking time around 3 to 4 hours through rainforest habitat. Airport transfer to Kilimanjaro International Airport is available depending on flight schedule. End of tour.💚🧡
