After breakfast, we'll drive to Machame Gate, the starting point of your Kilimanjaro trek. The trail ascends through a verdant rainforest, teeming with exotic birds and unique plant life. After several hours of hiking, you'll reach Machame Camp, nestled in a clearing surrounded by towering trees.

Today's trek takes you through the changing landscape of Kilimanjaro, as you ascend from the rainforest to the moorland zone. The trail winds through giant heather meadows and offers panoramic views of the Shira Plateau. Today's hike is an important acclimatization day, as you ascend to Lava Tower (15,000 ft) before descending to Barranco Camp (13,000 ft). This altitude fluctuation aids acclimatization and prepares you for the summit push.
