8-Day Mount Kilimanjaro Hiking Package

Arrival in Moshi or Arusha followed by a briefing and equipment check to prepare for the trek. Participants meet guides and support crew, receive important trek information, safety briefings and have their equipment inspected to ensure everything meets mountain requirements before the trek begins.

Start the trek through the rainforest zone progressing toward the first camp. The day covers walking through lush montane rainforest, observing changing vegetation and wildlife typical of lower slopes while steadily gaining elevation to reach the first established camp.

Continue trekking through heath and moorland areas with scenic views of the mountain landscape. The route transitions from dense forest to more open, rugged terrain, offering panoramic vistas and varied plant life characteristic of mid-elevations on Kilimanjaro.

Continue ascending while focusing on acclimatization at higher altitude. The day involves steady ascent to higher camps with attention to pacing and acclimatization strategies to help the body adjust to thinner air and prepare for higher elevation trekking.

Day dedicated to acclimatization with a hike and subsequent return to camp. This helps improve chances of summit success by allowing participants to adapt to altitude through additional hike excursions and controlled descent back to camp for rest.

Trek to high camp and prepare for the summit attempt. The day is focused on reaching the high camp, managing energy and gear, and mentally and physically preparing for the upcoming summit push.

Begin a midnight summit push from high camp aiming for Uhuru Peak, the highest point; after reaching the summit descend to a lower camp. The schedule includes an overnight early start at around midnight, summit at dawn, and a long descent back down to lower elevations for rest.

Final descent from lower camp followed by a certificate ceremony and transfer back to Moshi or Arusha. The day covers descent through lower ecosystems, celebration of summit achievements with certificates, and organized transfers to the arrival city for onward travel.
